ThinkingBig Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 http://www.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2013-06-29/stanley-cup-rush-concert-chicago-tinley-park-geddy-lee-neal-peart It was unreal. The crowd went insane!!!!!!!!!! http://www.chicagotribune.com/videogallery/76497563/Video-Hawks-take-Stanley-Cup-to-Rush-concert Neil gave it a couple taps with his stick. Alex kissed it. 1
ILSnwdog Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 My daughter thought it was pretty funny when they pulled out the miniature cup first. I wish the pictures of the cup that I took with my phone turned out better. :(
skeeter Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 That was a BEAUTIFUL sight. Hats off to Carbomb for making that happen, just made the concert that much better. Was it just me, or did the sound really suck for the first half of the show? Geddy's voice seemed "off" in a few places. Sound seemed better in the 2nd half.
Lerxster Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013  awesome. And how lucky is former Flyer Dan 'Fear the Stash' Carcillo. :toothlesshockeygrin:
ILSnwdog Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 There were almost as many people sporting Blackhawks jerseys and shirts as there were Rush shirts. :) 2
skeeter Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 ThinkingBig: Nice vid! Where were your seats? Looks like you were pretty close to where I was sitting....102 GG. Wondering if you have any other vids that I might be in.
ZachenFoot Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I got some outstanding video on my HD camcorder. Used it and zoomed on the screen so I could see it really up close. It was so cool! I'll upload tonight and post it here.
ZachenFoot Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Here's my video from the Cup presentation at last night's show. It was too cool for words. I fanboy a little so you must forgive me :P It gets deafening and explosive when the band breaks into "YYZ." 2
Jeffrey Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 That had to have been the closest Toronto was to the Stanley Cup in 46 years. After all, they did play YYZ afterwards... :P 2
crimsonfrippy Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 http://i.imgur.com/H2giBD6.jpg Hey, I'm a Bruins fan and I am happy to see this! Congrats again to the Blackhawks and everyone who was able to see Rush and the Stanley Cup last night! Cheers, frippy 3
corts44 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Definately a night to remember! Here are a few great galleries and a video from the Blackhawks: http://galleries.apps.chicagotribune.com/chi-stanley-cup-rush-concert-20130629/#chi-ct-ent-0701-rush-reviewc-20130628 http://video.blackhawks.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=894&id=261161&cmpid=embed-share-video 2
HalfwayToGone Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I just took a look at the official tour photos from this show, and noticed that Neil is not only wearing his hockey team logos kufi, but he has the Blackhawks logo right in front.

goingbald Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Red Wings Stanley cups - 11Blackhawks Stanley cups - 5Hey just 3 or 4 more and you can be 'close'. It's ok for you to be overwhelmed about winning the cup since you're not used to it. :laughing guy:
ZachenFoot Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 (edited) Red Wings Stanley cups - 11Blackhawks Stanley cups - 5Hey just 3 or 4 more and you can be 'close'. It's ok for you to be overwhelmed about winning the cup since you're not used to it. :laughing guy: Boy, that Western Conference Semi-Final sure was fun. I also seem to recall it taking the Wings 42 years to win another Cup prior to 1997. 42 and 49 is about an equal number when it comes to sports droughts. Every team has their moment, and hopefully we can narrow that margin even more in the coming years. Edited June 30, 2013 by ZachenFoot
1-0-0-1-0-0-1 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 NHL.com put together a nice little video about the Cup's visit to the Rush show in Chicago. http://video.nhl.com...bed-share-video 2
