The Phins play the Ravens in week 5 don't they? How do you think Tannehill's boys will do against them?

Well, given that Warren Sapp's bold prediction was that Tannehill would break Marino's team passing record and Manning just threw for his sixth TD vs the Ravens D, we should win by about 55-24.

My real prediction is that we will lose, 24-20.

I've seen that prediction elsewhere, it seems it's a popular one, I don't know why though. What was Tannehill like last year? He wasn't that good was he?

Not that good is about right. He played well at times, but not consistently. How much of that was due to a miserable WR corps is anyone's guess, but any similarities between him and Marino would be like saying, well, I don't know what it would be like saying. It's just bizarre.

What an idiotic play by Treviathan, or whatever his name is. Just cross the damned goal line instead of breaking into some idiotic celebration.

It's not like the media ever made that kind of prediction about the Phins before, or anyone else much really. It must be the dream team factor, the Phins are still perceived as the big offseason winner, even though Keller went down.

He didn't even need Don Beebe to knock the ball out for him.....

Yeah, a total let-off for Flacco too, that was a terrible throw, you could have returned that one for TD.

That's not often true (hell, it's almost never true) but it would have been in that case, and I wouldn't have pulled that showing off sh!t.

Now the Ravens aren't completely out of it at 42-24.

Now Manning has an excuse for going for TD number 7.

It'll probably be another 2-3 weeks before he catches Marino in yards.

He'll be within a couple of years of Favre in TD passes and 3-4 years in yards.

I'd much rather him have the records than Favre though...except for that interception one. :)

Is he that close? Marino seemed way ahead not so long ago.

Favre - 71, 838 yds

Marino - 61, 361 yds

Manning - 59,949 yds

Favre - 508 TD's

Manning - 443 TD's

Marino - 420 TD's

Doh, I thought I remembered Marino's yardage but I (mis)remembered 60,361.

Is there a Madden simulation curse? If so, some of these teams are in trouble.

A couple of guys here at the NFL Network studios were having a conversation about "Breaking Bad" the other day, when somebody walked into the room and said, "Don't spoil anything!" You figured the aforementioned person might have been an episode or two behind and didn't want to hear the conversation.

But no, this person was actually six seasons behind.

Are you freaking kidding me?

Spoilers are out of control, people. I mean, you can't even have a "Star Wars" conversation without somebody getting bent out of shape about it.

With that in mind, let me give you the appropriate spoiler alert because Madden NFL 25 ran a simulation on the entire season to see exactly what is going to happen. If you don't want the upcoming season ruined for you, I suggest you turn away.

Again, please turn away...

1. Here are your AFC Playoff teams in order, according to Madden: The New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens. So, there's going to be no difference in last year's playoff teams? Well, that's not going to happen. There is too much turnover from year to year in the NFL for all six teams to make the playoffs.

2. The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins will finish 8-8.

3. Your NFC playoff teams: The San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins. Well at least Madden NFL 25 understood the Vikings were a bit fortunate last year to make the playoffs. And proper deference was given to the return of Sean Payton.

4. The team that owns the first pick in the 2014 NFL Draft: The New York Jets. No surprise there. The St. Louis football club takes the second pick. You might as well use the relocation feature if that was to happen in St. Louis.

5. What about Adrian Peterson? He falls short of his goal of 2,500 yards, but he is simulated to rush for 2,139 yards. So Peterson still would become the first player in NFL history with back-to-back 2,000-yard seasons.

6. Peyton Manning is on pace for 112 touchdown passes this season. This makes Madden's simulation of 43 touchdown passes seem a little less gaudy. At least Madden realizes Manning still has trouble winning in the playoffs. Manning also goes for 5,323 yards.

7. No word if C.J. Spiller pukes during his run toward 1,504 yards, which is good for third in the NFL behind Peterson and Jamaal Charles, who goes for 1,886.

8. Calvin Johnson doesn't reach 2,000 receiving yards. Neither does Dez Bryant. The simulation has Johnson going for 1,839 yards. Check the injury rating, but Danny Amendola was simulated for 125 receptions for 1,324 yards and seven touchdowns.

9. Your award winners are Peyton Manning as MVP and Jim Harbaugh as Coach of the Year. I think sports writers have already voted Manning as the winner of the 2013 NFL MVP after Thursday night, so this makes sense.

10. But let's get down to the brass tax, who wins in the playoffs? Well, I already told you the Broncos lose. Madden NFL 25 has the Texans beating the Patriots to move on to the Super Bowl, while the 49ers hang on to beat the Redskins.

Who takes the Super Bowl? Well, we don't want to spoil everything for you.

Jets beating the Bucs. Looks like all our rivals are starting 0-1.

Bucs threw that game away. Absolutely idiotic penalty to put the Wets in FG range.

Well done David, I like that result it makes me feel warm and good inside! :D :smoke:

Packers shooting themselves in the foot....with a bazooka.....but it's still tied at the half. Kudos to the front 7 for stuffing Gore and Kap so far......

I pronounce Kap's name wrong, I tend to think of it as Ka-pear-nick instead of kaper-nick.
