Lost In Xanadu
http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/29/health/nfl-concussion-settlement/ Thousands of former football players and their families reached a settlement with the National Football League on Thursday in a lawsuit that put concussions, and their impact on the brain, under the microscope. The deal calls for the NFL to pay $765 million to fund medical exams, concussion-related compensation, medical research for retired NFL players and their families, and litigation expenses, according to a court document filed in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia. The agreement still needs to be approved by the judge assigned to the case, which involved more than 4,500 plaintiffs. http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtmlThe NFL has settled the lawsuit that could have destroyed it. And the price? A pittance: less than 0.5% of the NFL’s annual revenue, to be paid out over 20 years to thousands of retired players who claim that playing pro football left them with brain damage. Under the terms of its $765 million settlement (link), which Judge Brody still needs to approve, the NFL: Will pay up to $75 million to fund baseline medical exams for the players; Will pay $675 million to compensate former players and their families for cognitive injuries; andWill spend $10 million on new research into concussion care. The NFL also will cover various legal and administrative fees. Meanwhile, players and families who sued the league will get payouts from the league across the next 20 years, with specific compensation based on the details of each case. Individual compensation is capped at $5 million per player. 0.5% - I'd say the owners won this fight big time.

When any stud QB goes down, his team becomes sub-par. Nealry every NFL team has a schmuck for a backup QB, so they hope and pray that their starter stays upright. Such is life in the NFL. laughedatbytime
Best cheerleader shot ever coming out of the break after Denver scored to make it 21-17. I missed that...any idea which girl it was? Meanwhile Woody just went in again...Just one of the cheerleaders. Turn your DVR back to 12:30 in Q3 coming out of the break...it'll be worth it.
