burgeranacoke
Horse meat is much leaner than beef. cooking time is a bit shorter. Veronese Horse Meat Stew2 pounds (1 k) horsemeat, cut from the rump, or beef if you must2 sticks celery2-3 carrots1 large onion4 clovesA dozen coriander seeds1 bay leaf1 clove garlic2 ounces (50 g) lard or porkback fat1/4 cup olive oil1 bottle full bodied, dry red wine - Purists call for Reiciotto Amarone or Valpolicella Superiore, but a less expensive red will work just as wellSalt & Pepper to taste1 tablespoon butter kneaded in flourFlourPaprika to taste (2-3 tablesoons, not too strong)

Babycat
http://www.dailymail...l#axzz2JkWq1ji3 This is in the land of "Mad Cow" currently. (UK) Some years back, at its worst, a politician gave his young daughter a burger to eat in front of the cameras, to try and prove it was safe to eat. To be honest, I really don't know where it originated, but I think it stemmed from cows being fed other ground-up animals, like pigs. Don't take my word for it, though.

USB Connector
Every time I see an article about how falsely advertised fast foods are the happier I am about not eating that stuff. It's a shame all these companies have horse sized legal departments that focus on protecting themselves from consumers trying to sue them for false advertising. JohnnyBlaze
For most of you dudes/dudettes I think the idea of eating horse is the real issue. I ate some accidentally (due to my poor translating ability) a few weeks back. It was stir fried with onions and some spices. I thought it tasted a little funny though not disgusting. Texturally it was chewy. I've KNOWINGLY had horse before as sashimi but didn't think much of it. I wouldn't order it again but it was definitely better than say liver and dozens of other foods. "Horse is gross" is simply a cultural idea. "Those lying bastards are putting horse in my burger instead of beef in order to save money" is another thang. treeduck
These horse in the burger threads give a whole new meaning to the cliche metaphor and well known saying "I could eat a horse". Now you can just say "Shit I could eat 263 whoppers one after the other!"
