What do you think is the best song from this album?

The first song I ever heard from the album (thank you former freedomofmusic site), though through live format, Between the Wheels is definatly my favorite. Lots of good choices here as well, DEW and TEW are a lot of fun to play with bass guitar.

The obvious choice here is BTW because of the recent shows, but I am going with Afterimage, despite no real bass. I always loved the lyrical content and the guitar solo section.

Having listened (and trying to play along) with this album again it has lost some of the vigor I used to hold it in. It takes on a different air 20 years later.

It was a close tie for me, BTW and The Enemy Within are both great. IN THE END I went with Enemy Within, I love the lyrics and the beat.

Again I choose the losing song... oh well

I just love the end:

It's tough to be so cool...

I wonder if BTW would have been as popular as it is showing to be now if they hadn't have played it. Oh well, its definatly one of their most underrated songs that deserved its representation.

Between The Wheels is my pick because I like the lyrics

We can go from boom to bust

From dreams to a bowl of dust

We can fall from rockets' red glare

Down to "Brother can you spare-"

Another war-another waste land-

And another lost generation...

The lyrics hit close to home don't they?

I love the combination of acoustic and electronic drums in Red Lenses. Edited by Drumnut

Aaaaah, my favourite Rush record this, closely tied with Permanent Waves.

I truly love every single song here (yes, even Red Lenses), but Afterimage I simply adore. That stunning, emotionally charged geetar!! musik19.gif

Between The Wheels will be an absolute thrill to witness on the upcoming Euro tour! I can see tears welling up in my eyes during this song for sure...

I dont mind picking an obvious faorite..Red Sector A.."for my father and my brother it's too late, but I must help my mother stand up straight"...I love this..the melody fits the the lyric perfect!!!...This is such a great song!

I have to go with Red Sector A....just knowing now that Geddy's mom went thru all that and the emotion behind it is truly amazing...

Man Between the Wheels is the best on this album and one of the best in my opinion they've ever made. The synthesisers really add a lot to the song and alex's solo is great.
