karlx2112
I loved the setlist. I loved that it was my first Rush show where the new stuff actually did steal the show. That is a great accomplishment for a band like Rush with 20 freaking albums. I love the 80's stuff and was glad to see a show that featured all that great stuff. Hell, I've heard Xanadu and By-tor and all that great old stuff a hundred times. Nice to see the 80's stuff rocked. GREAT set...awesome. I loved it and would see it a hundred more times had I the means.

I would like to hear more obscure stuff that's not from the Power Windows era. Maybe Cygnus X-1, In The End, Lakeside Park...etc. Songs we haven't heard in like forever. As long as Geddy can sing it, or its an instrumental, I'm all for it. thanks for joining the thread with your opinion eaglemoon...I have a feeling we'll never get to hear those songs, but hey, that's what dreams are made of...are you going to see them this tour? I saw them in Columbus and going to see them again in Atlanta. Can't wait!

Tombstone Mountain
I heard they're putting in some "epic" classics back in...perhaps Xanadu or JL...according to my source

They Bow Defeated
I've been avoiding this sub-forum for months because I wanted to see this tour spoiler-free. I just saw the Phoenix show last night, and this was certainly one of my favorite setlists in years! I love 70s Rush as much as anyone, and my favorite overall Rush era is probably 75-81. But my first Rush show was Power Windows, so I have a huge affinity for the synth era. And I really loved Clockwork Angels and was looking forward to hopefully hearing most of it live. So for me it couldn't get much better: synth era staples and deep tracks, a nearly complete new album presentation with strings, plus a few of the long-time staples. :haz: The synth standouts for me were the Power Windows tunes (especially Middletown Dreams!) and The Analog Kid. But the standout of the night was certainly the triumverate of Clockwork Angels, The Anarchist, and Carnies. :haz: I knew these would be great live, but the energy of these tunes and the added power of the strings was mind-blowing. It was one of those big moments that I haven't had in a concert since maybe seeing Pink Floyd back in the day. After the fact, my only minor dissapointment is not seeing Seven Cities and The Body Electric. But overall this was a remarkable Rush show, in terms of the performance, energy, setlist, visuals, lighting, pyrotechnics, and sound. So PLEASE see this tour if you can. It's sad that some few are boycotting (apparently) because they still didn't get their pet favorite songs (Jacob's Ladder, Lakeside Park, etc.). Duke1
Absolutely loved the set list, love Clockwork Angels which I thought came across superbly well especially with the strings. CA is one of my top 5 Rush albums, so was very happy to see 9 songs from it, a lot heavier live than on record and the guys looked liked they loved playing it.The synth era songs were superb, far more punch and power live in 2012 than studio in the 80's. The opening trio of Subdivisions, Big Money and Force 10 was awesome, Grand Designs and Territories was stunning, Analog Kid was classic, great Alex solo, Manhattan Project and Red Sector A with the strings were fantastic.I thought the splitting up of the drum solos into 3 smaller ones worked really well, In fact "Where's my thing" which is "ok" on album absolutely rocked live. Bravado again is so much more powerful live, loved Alex's solo in this. Far Cry is a great live track. Limelight, YYZ (the strings worked extremely well here), Spirit of Radio, Tom Sawyer are great classics together withn the 2112 Overture / Temples / Finale, which was the best ending to any concert by any band I have ever seen in over 35 years of attending concerts. I agree on those fronts. Clockwork Angels is by far the heaviest, most meaningful piece of music in quite some time. The energy is obvious, and from what others are saying, is staying fairly consistent from show to show. Geddy's voice is such an instrument. Seems to age so well. We're lucky to have this kind of quality at this stage of the game. The setlist is a gift to the fans--no doubt!

Disk98
You know I like this set list even though they ommited Losing It because I grew up with the 80's RUSH era. Now that said, I can see how many fans could be pissed with this set. Not one Epic song. Combined only three song from PeW and MP. Really? It's Signals 30th Anniversary and they show more love to Power Windows. Not one song from CP, Presto or VT not to mention the 70's. Do they know how great Xanadu, Jacobs Ladder or La Villa would have sounded with strings? Working Man again? I can see why some people are pissed!
