  1. Maybe they’re skipping re-releasing Moving Pictures and instead will focus on a live boxset celebrating Exit Stage Left with multiple full shows on cd and dvd/BR including other bonuses Who knows at this point They always needed someone or a true group of serious Rush fanatics who want to protect their legacy and make sure the fans get what they want and search the archives and be on the search for rumored rare shows
  2. www.moderndrummer.com Parts can be viewed online now On newsstands now
  3. Great little interview. Man I miss Neil so damn much.
  4. I think that’s an idea that most of us will do Someone with special skills will most likely create something great The only difficult part would be finding the right sources that are all relative and close in sound Like the bonus tracks on the 2112 release or the St Louis boot don’t sound anything like the over polished ESL Still will be nice though And Terry Brown weighed in but not sure he understood because his answer definitely doesn’t answer
  5. This is NOT worth the money that they are charging. My god for similar money check out other bands boxsets and what they include. yes they could make it right by providing a site exclusively for downloads of live concerts and videos. But yes secure everything Rush has ever done. Reach out to Rush fans and collectors. Create a great archival department digging into every rumor and getting it out there for fans. What a disservice.
  6. https://www.anthementertainment.com/ Let them know how you feel :)
  7. Hell they didn’t even include the lyrics for that song
  8. But if they don’t release them then all is lost Why would they not release a great expansive boxset Makes no sense Someone posted that the news station recorded quite a bit of concert footage in Buffalo and they’ve been waiting to be asked Also from the new book wandering the face of the earth it was revealed that Rush recorded so many shows to multi track and filmed some London gigs Where the hell is this stuff Why why why would they not release it So very frustrating I know Geddy mentioned that these box sets are the record companies things and they don’t have much to do with it but come on What a disservice to fans As Ron pointed out they only further the theory of how much they have Hell start a download site or get on nugs And that damn cover WTF They had a chance to knock it out of the park with this one and they blew it
  9. Listed on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Permanent-Waves-40th-Anniversary-Rush/dp/B084GXS8V4/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=rush+permanent+waves+40th+anniversary&qid=1581485509&sprefix=rush+pwrm&sr=8-5 Changed the cover artwork These releases by the shitty label that took over is doing nothing but a disservice to Rush fans Shit they don’t even include the drum solo in honor of Neil I can’t believe no full show when they obviously have it and multiple nights This release was a true test to how they could make things right by releasing an amazingly huge boxset filled with stuff we’ve been clamoring for for decades Geez
  10. Definitely disappointed that the record company CHOSE NOT to release a full show from the 1980 PEW tour I guess the bright spot is that between this new release, the St. Louis boot, and 2112 special edition we will be able to make a complete and great concert
  11. I think they are missing the mark horribly with these They should have been like the Metallica box sets They dropped the ball this entire time with all these We know they have full PEW shows as songs have been released like 2112 and Passage on the 2112 So disappointing if true
  12. https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/rush-permanent-waves-40th-anniversary-box-set-due-27-march-2020.928667/ Ed also has something posted If the early information is true then this is absolutely horrible and very frustrating Hopefully it’s not correct
  13. Saw the tour in 1996 and 1997. Absolutely floored me. Still my favorite show. Was very excited when they released a lot of the show on dvd a few years back, but yes they have to do whatever it takes to give that a proper release. A full show with any extras possible. I think everything is out of their hands as they sold their interests, but hopefully something happens. They were at their latter day peak IMO The playing was phenomenal. The setlist was pretty great minus a few exceptions (Virtuality) Neil was so smooth in his playing. Just a great tour that needs a proper bluray release
  14. I'm still trying to find some high quality HD pics of Neil and his kit from the Test For Echo Tour, CP Tour, and the RTB tour. At least ones I can't find on a normal search on google
  15. I thought it was already put up on Dime. No mention of other Rush shows recorded (hopefully there are some as they are being sorted) A great Signals tour or PEW tour would be great
  16. Yeah, I hear you. I find it totally insane that people rip Neil for being a recluse. Now I get it. When he is private and alone he doesn't want to meet a fan. Trust me. I know. I met Neil that way. But when Neil is in an interview or doing this amazing drum clinic he is so wonderful. So articulate and animated. He talks more than me! LOL! I mean types? Sorry, inside joke for all of my friends on here. Neil is IT! He gave so much and took in so much grief and tragedy. He prevailed and yet still ended up with a shortened life. So sad, but yet he is such a positive light on this Earth. I will continue his Legacy through me by just putting on my headphones in my garage and playing my drums to the Rush Canon. I love how Neil used to play with tips down and stick butts UP! "FACE UP!!" I know the picture quality of this seminar is fuzzy and the audio isn't great with the wind and the planes flying above, but if they were to ever try and preserve this video I would hope it would be on blu-ray one day. 4K 8K Whatever!!! I always looked at it this that Neil was very much a personable person when he was the "musician" Neil Peart at work in a certain setting. He was talkative and friendly and outgoing. When he wasn't at work and when he was Neil Peart away from the job, he wanted his privacy respected. Neil got a lot of shit, but he was so forthcoming in his interviews and writing and really let us into his world and thoughts. He did everything HIS way. Also this clinic has always been a treasure. I remember having this sent to me many many years ago before it was ever leaked online and I watched in constantly. I once heard it was sent to Anthem for Neil and the vault. Don't know if that ever happened.
  17. I recently finished the new book Wandering the Face of The Earth by Skip Daly and Eric Hansen (Power Windows Website) and I must say that the book is absolutely fantastic. The book is so well researched and so well put together that it makes for a fascinating and informative read. Definitely highly recommended. The book is a great addition to any Rush fan collection. So much information is put into this book and I know a lot of time was put into the book as well. Just an amazing book that I had a hard time putting down. The book is a massive undertaking and you could even use the book as a weapon if needed as it's heavy as hell. While I was reading the book quite a few things stuck out to me, but one subject in particular and that was all the shows listed as being recorded to multi-track and soundboard and video. I don't know where the information was found and corroborated, but that is what makes this so interesting about the possibilities. Some of course we as fans always knew about and some have already leaked. But there are quite a few that have not seen the light of day. A lot of soundboards back in the day were recorded by Ian Grandy. And a lot of soundboards that have been released by fans are not listed. Also I know most of us assume almost all tours were recorded to soundboard with specific shows being recorded to multi-track for future live releases. Listed below are some dates that stood out to me. Sorry if this is a waste of time and reading for most of you, but I found it interesting and thought some of you would as well. Seattle March 26th 1976 - Recorded by radio station KZOK-FM to be broadcast on 04/20/76 Binghamton, NY 9/17/76 - Recorded to soundboard by Ian Grandy. Didn't make a copy. Might still have it. Eventually released first on ROIO and then officially London, England February 19-20 1978 Hammersmith - recorded by BBC Radio. Eventually released officially (DS and AFTK boxset) Tucson, AZ November 20, 1978 - Recorded by Ian to soundboard. Famous ROIO released many times over London May 4-7, 1979 Hammersmith - ALL 4 NIGHTS WERE RECORDED TO MULTI-TRACK FOR A FUTURE LIVE RELEASE CALLED "LIVE IN ENGLAND" AS WELL AS FILMED FOR A FEATURE MOVIE THAT WAS PLANNED FOR A SUMMER 1980 RELEASE. ALSO IAN RECORDED AT LEAST ONE SHOW TO SOUNDBOARD Germany May 28, 1979 - Ian recorded to soundboard. Geddy hated how it sounded. The popular Black Forest boot release Holland Pink Pop Festival June 4, 1979 - Radio Recorded. St. Louis February 11-13 1980 - All shows recorded by NBC radio and edited. Not sure if full show still exists. IT IS WORTH IT.
  18. Broke my heart when I first heard/read the news. Still breaks my heart now. I read the beautiful words written by those who knew him best and I realize the impact this gentle giant had on so many. Not just fans of course but true friends. He got to live his life mostly in his own way. He was a victim of what I call the 50/50 life. 50% of true greatness and the highest of highs and the other 50% suffering and tragedy. My heart breaks for his daughter and wife going forward. My heart breaks for Neil who just wanted to be a regular guy and live his life with his family. To make up for lost time. The balance out the sacrifice he made earlier in the name of music and what he missed out on. He received a 2nd chance and was determined to make the best of it with his new wife and new daughter. Honestly this was a cruel joke on this man who brought joy to so many. Obviously most of us didn't know the man but it doesn't lessen the impact his life had on us. As we all know he was the soundtrack to our lives. Inspired us. Left us in awe.Not many "celebs" have an impact like this when they pass, but there was just something about Neil and of the course Alex and Geddy. Rush fans have always been a tight family. With Neil, Alex, and Ged in the middle Rush fans circled around them and protected them. An outpouring of emotion from us the fans but also his friends speaks volumes. Neil was Neil until the very end. When I found out and tears began to flow I poured myself a drink and went outside and screamed to sky f**k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did that a few times. It hit hard. Still does. There was always just something special about all 3 of the guys and the relationship with their fans. We cared. They cared. We still care. They still care. Always will. Neil in fact move the world. We are all feeling that. RIP NEP. f**k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. And it's a boot that has been out forever in the trading circles. They could have hit a home run with this set, but they didn't even come close. Sad really.
  20. I'm sorry, but this is pretty damn disappointing in terms of content if this is all there is.
  21. https://www.rushbackstage.com/rushbackstage/media-260/rush-2112-blue-vinyl-keychain.html Possibly
  22. I think this is a 100% correct with the added songs not only on the BLU-RAY but the CD as well for a nice deluxe boxset - It was a phenomenal show - a bit too much T4E - should have rotated T4E songs each night, but a great great show and I personally like Neil's DW sound on the second summer leg of the tour with the high toms :) but that's another debate for another time. Rush has to keep the bank accounts full and any way they can, they will if there is no more touring - this is one of the options along with classic concerts released and any video footage. My favorite tour after GUP that I saw followed by VT with the original setlist with BSAM, VS, and Ceiling
