GrandDesigner
QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ May 2 2012, 02:59 AM) Seems to me that there's more to your stomach issue than it just being "Far Eastern Asian spicy" food. What about food from Korea for example? Or Malaysia? They're drastically different from Vietnamese dishes with (obviously) different ingredients. And spicy Japanese dishes just aren't hot at all (by western standards). I don't believe I've ever had Korean food. I've had Malaysian food, but I can't recall if it was spicy or not. I love Japanese food, and really like wasabi with my sushi. Vietnamese and Thai were the spiciest and they just didn't sit well with me at all. I'm not a huge fan of their food in general. Alien Girl
Thai food is sublime (and by extention Vietnamese food too). Spice and flavors combined in perfect harmony. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! (Besides, nothing makes you feel better when you're sick w/ a cold that a big bowl of Tom Kha Gai or Pho) I've had Malaysian food once...it was very good but I don't remember it being particularly spicy. LOVE Indian food, LOVE Tex-mex. It's not just the spice w/ these foods though but the flavor combinations. Spicy just for the sake of being spicy doesn't do anything for me. The flavor has to be there too....though a good slow burn, and sinus cleansing properties does enhance it...makes me happy too.
CrossedSignals
Vietnamese is possibly my favorite cuisine. That or Indian. It's a tossup.
Fly By Night fan
I love spicy food. I've just recently gotten into putting hot sauce on stuff. I've got two that I really like, they are Tears Of The Sun and Hellacious both from High River Sauces. I'm thinking about getting their new Top Fuel Verde Sauce.(Sounds yummy.) Their site. http://highriversauces.com/main/sauces/

I agree, Sriracha is really all you need. I was first initiated into the goodness of Sriracha at a Than Brothers pho (the Ballard location I believe). Seattle's best pho by far. Oh how I miss cheap, tasty pho houses. I can't wait to move back to Seattle in the fall!

IChoseFreeWill
In moderation. I like Mexican food quite a bit. But I do not want it having habaneros or anything else tremendously spicy.

mazyyz
QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Apr 29 2012, 04:47 PM) I agree, I love spicy food if it has a good flavor and not just spicy for the sake of being spicy.
Babycat
I wouldn't mind it so much if it didn't make me feel like both ends were on fire; tears flow very quickly in my opinion, and I'm sure I can hear the oncoming fire fighters...
Leslie145
QUOTE (Lerxster @ May 2 2012, 06:10 AM) If there was a 'Hell YES!, but I eat it in moderation...' option, that's what I would have voted for. SPICY! Bearing in mind though that being an English devotee of proper real ales, such a combination can have (how can I put this) repurcussions Hint, do not eat garlic chilli chicken bahar after drinking several pints of dark mild, then expect your wife to love you the next morning http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-fart005.gif

invisible airwave
As long as I've got plenty of liquid to wash it down, I'll go for it, unless it's habanero or wasabi. Can't tolerate it with or without cold drinks to wash it down.
