Both LP's are good (hey it's RUSH..duh!)
but,I'd have to go with CP...excellent album.

Good point! CP is much more guitar oriented which is excellent.

I'm just a nostalgic nerd for Power Windows. I was a Junior in high school when it came out.

I even did an oil painting of the album cover in art class. I got an honorable mention in some art show!

I used to LOATHE Power Windows - until I came to my senses later in life and realized it is a Rush masterpeice.

CP sounds great, but has a few too many clunkers.

When I first heard "Signals" I wanted to cry. I thought it was pure shit.

Then a few months of going back to it my young teen-age mind at the time fell in love with yet another Rush masterpiece.

I fell in love with GUP after one listen when it came out.

My mind was blown away after one listening of Power Windows.

"Mystic Rhythms" was so much fun to learn to play on the drums even though back then I didn't have any electronic percussion on my kit.

I winged it organically! 2.gif ON!

I've only known Counterparts for 6 years and I like it more and more with each passing year, but I've been into Power Windows since it came out and I also saw 'em on that tour so I have many special memories with that album. I chose PoW, although the albums are 9 years apart and seem light years apart musically.

Power Windows. I know everyone seems to think that Alex is buried or overpowered but I think some of his most creative work appears on this album. Maybe having to "fit" the guitar in made him think about it differently. I don't know but I do know that there is some amazing guitar work on this album. Plus the lyrics are great; some of Neil's best, IMO. Geddy's vocals are inspiring as is his bass. The whole album is mesmerizing. There's not a single song on it that I don't love.

Counterparts does have some great guitar - almost grungy. But there are a few songs on it that I will skip sometimes. Nobody's Hero isn't one of those, though. I love that song. I also think that the last stanza of Everyday Glory is possibly the best lyric Neil has ever written. It's a great album just not as great as PoW, IMO.

Synth era is big here on TRF.

When I first joined TRF I was a bit worried that people would laugh because I like synth era as much as the heavy stuff. I'm so pleased that it wasn't that way here at all!

Thank you TRF! This is truly the nicest place to be for a Rush fan like me!

Hey, that rhymed!
