I wouldn't consider Graveyard Doom metal. I'd consider them hard rock actually. Cool band nontheless, thanks for sharing! I agree with you Goose they have a Led Zeppelin, Sabbath and Soundgarden vibe to them; And that the end of uncomfortbly numb sounded a lot like freebird.

I consider skid row metal but not REAL METAL lol. As far as catergorizing things goes I really don't like GM because some people call a lot of glam stuff metal that isn't and good bands like Dokken and Tesla get lumped with Poison lol. But I do listen to a little Poison, the only songs I really like from them are Life goes on and Something to believe in though. I think the fact that Dokken had the fantastic guitarist George Lynch and the faster heavier songs. Made it a lot eaisier to call them Metal. But I would not considered Led Zeppelin heavy metal though.

Being 18 and knowing that a lot of my tastes in music and other things are from the 80's, 90's and older bothers me. And that a good amount of the bands I listen to I can't see live or they currently suck IMO like Metallica. But not as much as it used to, several months ago I REALLY started getting into Metal. Seeing new great bands and discovering new and old music has helped to rid that sad wishful feeling. Plus my tastes in music have changed a lot. My tastes in music now are a lot more broad then they used to be and I like music a lot more then I used to. But being different is cool too. (Somewhat off topic but I think it's a good post)

He listed some good metal bands like Dokken and Skid row. So I just went for it, and assumed he was serious lol

My favorite hobby right now is Dagorhir. Dagorhir is a game that recreates Medieval/fantasy combat with foam weapons. (I was born in 93') I think my Dad has influenced my tastes a good amount through listening to classic rock radio together. The classic rock radio stations played good bands but here they don't have much variety. They do play blocks of Led Zeppelin though which I am very greatful for. The only rock albums my Dad owned were U2. So a lot of the music I found over the years has been on my own. Youtube has played a HUGE role in me finding music. The bands/artists we listened to that I still enjoy are Led Zeppelin, CCR, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Iona and New age. I did get him into Rush which I am proud of. He had a good time when we went to our first Rush concert back in spring. I am very pleased how my tastes in music have changed over the years. From Zeppelin being the only band I really got into, to deeply getting into Rush in 08', to getting into Thrash, Death, Heavy, Doom, Black and Power Metal in 10' and 11'. While still listening to synth era Rush, Glam metal, 90's/ early 2000's rock and other stuff.
