I listened to Valtari last night and it is wonderful. This is a band that doesn't take giant leaps from album to album. If you listen to the catalog you can hear a slow steady progression. Very nice.

Man, what a great effort. I really enjoy "Fjogur piano", "Ekki Mukk", and "Varuo". Definitely ranks up in the top three Sigur Ros albums for me next to "Agaetus Byrjun" and "Von".

Also, the Brennisteinn EP has two bonus tracks on it. Not sure where to buy it, but it's already out there (if you know what I mean).

Edit: Just listened to the two bonus tracks. Ofbirta is a gorgeous instrumental and sounds like their traditional stuff, but Hryggjarsula is something they've never done before. It has a very industrial, Godspeed You Black Emperor vibe to it. I'm absolutely loving it. This might be their darkest record to date. Can't wait!

Just watched the Fallon performance. It was great! The song kinda reminded me of Nine Inch Nails, but not as aggressive. It was kinda catchy in fact. I'm really excited by the direction they're taking.

Also, it's pretty incredible to see a band of this caliber perform on mainstream TV. Props to Fallon.
