Janie, what time is dinner?
Your menu sounds much more appetizing than mine:

Sloppy Joe on kaiser roll with frozen oven fries

OMG! I heart.gif Sloppy Joes!

But, yeah, I think filet mignon beats sloppy joes. tongue.gif

Dinner is always around 7:30pm. All are welcome. Just bring some wine.

:wow! I thought I was the only American to eat dinner @ 7:30!

And, no problem with the wine.

Your kitchen sounds like my kind of place, for sure smile.gif

Tonight I'm going to make:

- pepper-crusted filet mignon
- mashed potatoes
- stuffed tomatoes (this is going to be an experiment - I'm taking my favorite stuffed mushrooms recipe and applying that to roma tomatoes)
- toasted french bread with a butter, roasted garlic and parmesan spread
- and for dessert, chocolate mousse

I will be over at 7:00 with the wine! tongue.gif

The stuffed tomato experiment turned out awesome! I'm definitely going to make these again.

Thank you so much!

I love to cook. I didn't at first but that was because I didn't know what I was doing and lacked a lot of confidence. Or, I would have an idea in my head but the dish would never turn out like how I imagined. Then, one day, I called my grandmother who could whip out some amazing dishes. I asked her for some recipes and she actually yelled at me! She said, "You just get in there and do it. You make mistakes but you keep cooking and baking until it comes out right." At first I was way upset but then I realized that she was 100% right. I usually look at a recipe but then wing it when I'm in the kitchen preparing something.

I want to put together a cookbook and am joining cooking clubs and stuff.

The most painful part about all this? I have picky eaters in the house.

But yeah, if you lived here, you would be invited over for meals. No nuked meals for you.
