Love 'em, like 'em, or God forbid dislike 'em, but there was no rock band who had a bigger influence on music and culture, and I doubt there ever will be. Name your top 10 songs!

Mine could change, but it would roughly be:

1. Revolution #9

2. A Day in the Life

3. I Am The Walrus

4. Strawberry Fields Forever

5. Across the Universe

6. While My Guitar Gently Weeps

7. All You Need is Love

8. The Long and Winding Road

9. Tomorrow Never Knows

10. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Damn, that was hard! #11 would probably be In My Life.

It's a pretty much impossible task to select which 10 are my definitive favorites but I'll say my favorite era is '65-'67. Here's what I decided on for now:

Strawberry Fields Forever

Tomorrow Never Knows

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

We Can Work It Out

Nowhere Man

Rain

Paperback Writer

Eleanor Rigby

Across The Universe

Here Comes The Sun

Honourable Mention: Drive My Car

Personally, it's impossible for me to pick just ten Beatles songs, but here's some off the top of my head:

She Loves You

Paperback Writer

Ticket to Ride

In My Life

Strawberry Fields Forever

Penny Lane

A Day in the Life

Tomorrow Never Knows

She's Leaving Home

Don't Let Me Down

George Honorable Mentions:

If I Needed Someone

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Long, Long, Long

The Beatles were the first band that I listened to when I was young.

I have loved them ever since then.

In no particular order:

Hey Jude

Revolution

I Am The Walrus

A Day In The Life

Drive My Car

Tomorrow Never Knows

I'm Only Sleeping

Rain

I Want You (She's So Heavy)

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

That was harder than I thought!

Krautrock is an unfortunate term, but it's descriptive of a particular variety of 70's German music that's kind of a combination between psych and prog, but not quite either of those. Some of the more well-known groups of the genre:

Can

Amon Duul II

Tangerine Dream

Kraftwerk

Faust

Popol Vuh

Ash Ra Tempel

Cluster

Neu!

Have you no American blood at all?

My dad is from Ireland, he was born near Dublin and lived there till he was 20. My mum is English. Hundreds of years ago vikings invaded these islands, this makes me 100% viking blood!

That's funny you should mention that. Believe it or not, on my mom's side, we are direct descendants of Leif Erikson. trink39.gif
