Imaginos Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 This year has been a bit of a let-down for me musically. The top 3 albums for me have been... "Someone Here Is Missing" The Pineapple Thief "We're Here Because We're Here" Anathema "The Final Fronier" Iron Maiden ...but as you can probably tell from my current avatar, I'm expecting Amplifier's "The Octopus" to steal the show once it's finally unleashed. Then again, I was expecting to love Gazpacho's "Missa Atropos" & PRR's "Hammer & Anvil". I do like both of these albums a lot but nowhere near as much as I thought I would.
rummut71 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Year is not over, and there are some records listed here that I have never heard or given a listen to the artist before. (I keep reading about Anathema, but have not listened. LCD Soundsystem record that came out this year supposed to be really good too.) Looks like I have some more listening to do. Thus far, I have really enjoyed: Someone Here Is Missing - TPT Great record... I would have liked to have seen them at NEARfest. Self Preserved While The Bodies Float Up - Oceansize Their most complete record to date. End to end winner. Lunatic Soul II Just got today and only on 1.5 listens so far, but this record has such huge atmosphere it is just amazing. A turn out the lights and put headphones on record... Great follow-up to the first and surpassed my expectations. Funny how no one on here listed Ke$ha...
ozzy85 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I'm probably gonna go with Them Crooked Vultures... not a bum track on the entire album. I see someone mentioned Bison B.C.... saw them live this summer. They kicked serious a$$. They played with Priestess.
red barchettta Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Jakob Dylan--- Women and Country John Hiatt--- Open season Johnny Cash -- American VI

Ozzy; I agree this is a great CD, hasn't left my CD player for almost a year. Slight correction-- it came out in 2009. I went out on "Black Friday"; picked it up then.

I thought they were better live, than in the studio. They kicked ass in Oakland. Sold out baby!
VarianStar Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Blackmore's Night ~ Autumn Sky I think that this is their best album to date and most certainly my 2010 favorite.
Hatchetaxe&saw Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Anathema - We're Here Because We're Here....that'll be somewhere near the top as well, damn fine.

Xanadu93 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Try and get The Dead Weather's Sea of Cowards, Minus the Bear's Omni, and Plastic Beach by Gorillaz when you can. Three of my favorite records from this year and I had never listened to anything by any of these artists before.
Rush! Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 ^I actually have heard MtB & Gorillaz but forgot to list them until now aha... I'll check out The Dead Weather record, thanks.
