The game was ugly on both sides. This is MLB playoffs - its whoever is hot, or lucky, or both right at this time. IMO, almost any of these teams can do it, it just matters how they do now, and avoiding mistakes is one thing that has to be done.

The Phillies even made some mistakes they got away with. Rollins fielded a ball that bounced before his glove, and instead of firing it to first, he took the time to look behind him to see if the ump thought he caught it... UGH.

BTW - losing the ball in the lights, I dont know how that doesnt happen more. You know yourself if you sit down close to field and lose pop ups in the lights, its easy..

It's all my fault. I jinxed the Reds.

Just like when I sat down to watch the Twins. They were leading the Yanks 3-0, and they fell apart.

Then I sat down to watch the Reds last night, when Chapman came in. They fell apart, too.

I'm not watching anymore..... angry.gif angry.gif angry.gif

Joey Votto is NL MVP !!!

Votto -Avg -324 HR- 37 RBI - 113

Pujols - Avg - 312 HR- 42 RBI - 118 [Led the n.l in hr & rbi ]

Big Al should have won agian .

Plus, Votto is an unsportsmanlike asshat imo

Joey Votto grew up in my area of Toronto and played in the same organization that my 9 year old plays in. He is an inspiration to young Canadian kids who play something other than hockey. Everything I know about him, doesn't lend credence to the "asshat" remark. Pujols is a great player but Votto was just as deserving this year.

The only stat you need to know on offense is OPS (On base Pct.+ Slugging PCT.)

Votto 1.024

Pujols 1.013

Votto got tossed a couple times for arguing ball and strikes , other than that I've seen almost no emotion.

He helps kids? Great, i am all for that .If you don't shake hands with your Teammates at an All Star game because they wear a different uniform than you, yes, you are an asshat .

IMO, Puljos' stats are a shade better, but Votto was close enough to warrant the MVP, he was a big part of the Reds success.

4 run 9th with a walk off dinger , a good way to start.  yes.gif

Incredible win smile.gif . Stubbs is such a fine looking young player. Looking forward to see what kind of year he puts together in a full season.

The Reds are going to miss the glue that held their team together, C Corky Miller. He needs to be on the roster if they're serious about winning.

Big (and rare) sweep of the Cards. Hopefully the team will now begin to gel and go on a hot streak. A long, tough road trip coming up next weekend.

Nice sweep. smile.gif It's always nice to see the Cardinals lose, even if it is to one of the Cubs divisional rivals.
