Running Rebel
QUOTE (nappy2112 @ May 13 2012, 08:07 PM) Votto hits 3 bombs including a walk off grand slam in a 9-6 win !! The Nats take 5 of 7 however. Only 2.5 behind the Cards. Yeah, let's hope Votto finally stays hot. Nice walk off grand slam!

Personally I like to see managers use their best guy (and Chapman is that) in the most key situations. Closers usually get their share of relatively easy, fairly low pressure situations...two and three run leads to start an inning maybe against 6-7-8 instead of situations with baserunners on or better hitters up. I know it's unorthodox and therefore you get crucified in the media, but it's a better way IMO to leverage the use of your best bullpen guys. nappy2112
8 outta 9 for the Reds (6-1 homestand), Votto out of his slump going 8 for 11 over the weekend. Cueto suffers the only loss this week ,Bruce even homers.
Test4VitalSigns
Pedro Borbon, Sr. passed away http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/8009018/...cumbs-cancer-
laughedatbytime
:rip: I remember seeing Borbon pitch quite a bit. He didn't have to compile a lot of saves, because the Big Red Machine was such a juggernaut, there weren't much close games. I think I remember he bit someone during a fight too...he was a very emotional player, to say the least.
Principled Man
QUOTE (laughedatbytime @ Jun 5 2012, 09:08 PM) .....he was a very emotional player, to say the least. He was a passionate player. He would've pitched in every single game, if Sparky had let him. His arm was indestructable! One of the most reliable relievers ever. After a scuffle with the Mets, he lost his cap and put a Mets cap on by mistake. When he found out, he took a bite right out of it!! And yes, he DID bite a Mets player.....LOL....
