They are a must for fans of Transatlantic and Yes. On a similar vein could I suggest the band Deluge Grander? Their debut, August In The Urals, is like a quirky homage to 70s Prog but with modern Prog sensibilities. http://www.progarchives.com/progressive_rock_discography_covers/2706/cover_10422222112006.jpg Here's "The Solitude Of Miranda" from that album: http://www.progarchives.com/mp3.asp?id=1580 Though the track isn't totally indicative of what they are about. Funny, I love Afterglow. Will check out Deluge Grander! Tony, finally got the 2 Deluge Grander albums. Fabulous stuff! Great prog music store, Caerllysi Music, huge range, good prices, prompt delivery. http://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=caer...CxkjvyggrXY0gEg

Grimmflyer Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Magic Pie - all three of their albums are very good.
Hatchetaxe&saw Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 QUOTE (Grimmflyer @ May 1 2012, 09:05 PM) Magic Pie - all three of their albums are very good. Might fine pie, I've listened to a few of their tracks. Must invest.
Imaginos Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 After reading this review, it seems like the debut album by Riversea is going to be well worth some ear-time... http://progmeister.com/riversea-out-of-an-ancient
ColdFireYYZ Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 The new North Atlantic Oscillation album is on progstreaming.com. Its really good. They also have the new album by the Canadian musician Rick Miller. Its pretty melancholic and mellow but still good. He has a bunch of albums that can be streamed for free/downloaded for $5 on Bandcamp.

Gompers Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Just checked out "Remember It" by FramePictures on Spotify. There are some killer tracks on it.
Gompers Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Check out Blue Mammoth. YouTube vids with full tracks on the main page.
drbirdsong Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I managed to pull myself away from Clockwork Angels long enough to give a listen to the new Squackett CD. It is PROG followed by PROG with a lot of PROG mixed in. If you ever thought someone from Yes should get together with someone from Genesis and make a PROG album then this is the one for you. I only gave it one listen so far, but it beats the living shite out of the efforts Hackett made with Howe in the 1980s. Recommended for lovers of PROG everywhere.

Hatchetaxe&saw Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 Galahad's new one, Battle Scars, is on Progstreaming. Bloody good, really epic, very melodic.
ColdFireYYZ Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 The new Echolyn album is excellent. Its a double album but its only a little over an hour long. I don't have all their albums yet but supposedly this is their best yet. Also, the new District 97 album, Trouble With Machines, is awesome. I don't think its on sale yet though (got it from their label at nearfest). Great new prog with catchy (in a good way) female vocals. And the new Anglagard album is a masterpiece, as expected. So far its in my top 3 2012 albums.
Imaginos Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Hey ColdFireYYZ... is there still plenty of cello on the new District 97 album? That one of the things that I loved about "Hybrid Child".
Hatchetaxe&saw Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 QUOTE (Imaginos @ Jul 4 2012, 11:08 AM) Hey ColdFireYYZ... is there still plenty of cello on the new District 97 album? That one of the things that I loved about "Hybrid Child". I think the cellist left, I think. Not sure was she replaced. Hybrid Child was excellent. Must order the new one.
ColdFireYYZ Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 (edited) The cellist left but she made a guest appearance on one track. I forgot what song it is but I think it's Read Your Mind. She wasn't replaced. Edit: Listening to the album now and Read Your Mind is the track she played on. Edited July 4, 2012 by ColdFireYYZ

Listening to this now..I like it . This is a good thread because I'm always wanting to hear new bands. Progstreaming rules !! Peolpe say stuff like..oh I haven't listened to The Wall in years ..hell I haven't listened to Hemispheres in years ... always wanting something new to hear.
xx2112xx Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 QUOTE (Imaginos @ Dec 23 2011, 02:42 PM) Yesterday my copy of "P'dice" by Paul Cusick was delivered & it's a most excellent slice of proggy goodness. In fact even though I've only lived with this album for around 30 hours I think that it's the best prog album that I've bought this year (and it's been a very good year for the genre). Gavin plays on this record, yes? I'm listening to it now, I like it.
Tony R Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 I've been listening to Headspace recently. The album "I Am Anonymous" features Rick Wakeman's son Adam. Not sure what to make of it myself but it would probably appeal to fans of Queensryche/Dream Theater.
