Air - Le Voyage Dans La Lune

It's mighty, it truly is.

Always hard to pinpoint what genre Air belong, but they're prog to me.

This is a soundtrack to George Melies 1902 film Le Voyage Dans La Lune(A Trip To The Moon). some of you may recognise it as footage of it was used for The Smashing Pumpkins Tonight Tonight video.

That sounds amazing. You have a link to some samples?

I can go one better. Here's a full album stream from the best UK daily newspaper, The Guardian:

That's some trippy great stuff!

Anyway, I just now discovered Rishloo, you all must check them out. They're like Tool/APC meets Circa Survive, with perhaps a dash of Rush here and there. It's amazing.

For a single track try Keyhole in the Sky.

That druggy space rock does little for me.

Rishloo has some great moments. It could be the emotion in the music.

Try Break of Reality, their cover of Lateralus (with cellos and percussion) or their original song Circles.

It's fantastic. I downloaded it and the artwork today. Trying to buy the cd with the 3d specs, but the Russian websites are damned frustrating.

Another great and free album that has a sax is Charts and Maps - Dead Horse. Unfortunetly they broke up before they even released the album.

This is The Fierce & The Dead. Kinda prog, kinda post-rock. Very good indeed, very atmospheric.

New album is the wonderfully titled If It Carries On Like This We Are Moving To Morecambe.

I just listened to the EP Part 1 the other day. Its a single 18 minute track, but its excellent. I'm planning on buying the album too.

Matt Stevens, the guitarist, has some great acoustic instrumental albums on his Bandcamp, and they're name your price to download. Once I have some money, I'm going to donate, but they're worth checking out. I only listened to "Echo" but its very good.

Nice, and isn't post rock a type of prog anyway tongue.gif

If It's good and I like it, it's prog, end of argument.

That's some pretty good stuff though ohmy.gif

The Fierce & The Dead have a new EP out, called OnVHS.

It is the best thing I've heard all year, all Pixies bass and Fripp loops. Fantastic stuff.

I'm in the middle of listening to Balloon Astronomy's self titled album and its very good. Nick D'Virgilio plays drums and Mike Keneally plays acoustic guitar. Its on Progstreaming and Spotify.

Got noctourniquet and skipped school to have a listening party. Super super surprised with how different it is. There's a tiny bit of Gorillaz in there ohmy.gif

Anyone heard a big goodbye and their album Sounds and Silences? Interesting stuff, give it a shot. Solid 4 star effort that grows on you. A little PT, a little Opeth, a dash of DT, indie acoustic stuff, and influenced by Chicago and Toto as well as "contemporary classical" music.

At $6.93, I am getting the MP3s off Amazon now. I think the vox could have been mixed a bit better.
