The man hates iPods.........

The documentary for his solo album had him among others destroying many, many iPods through various different methods.

Only listened through once so far. First impressions:

Not so much a double album as compared to one cohesive album that is retro with an ep that is more along their last 3 albums. The Incident (the song) seems to have more in common with their stuff pre-in absentia/deadwing/foabp. So far I like the 2nd disc a bit better than the first although Time Flies is very good. My fav is bonnie the cat. The drums on that track are amazing.

There are some fine moments but I'm not sure I've really invested in the concept of it yet. As a result of these bits and pieces of story, it's not very "songy."

Overall it's a pretty tame album with real moments of bombast and energy.

My standouts right now include:

Drawing The Line

The Incident (cuz it's so f-ing weird)

Time Flies

I Drive The Hearse

...and I pretty much dig all of disc 2.

After a week of stewing over the album.. I have to say it's not my favorite... I love the album, but it doesn't match the last 3 albums.

This album was more or less a mix of Stupid Dream, Insurgentes, and Signify...which is not bad... I love these albums... And I really enjoyed "The Incident"

It's just not as good as FOABP, Deadwing, or In Absentia.

Dammit, I didn't listen to it this weekend! (Or The Resistance, for that matter.) I'll hopefully try to listen to it this coming weekend.

The more I listen to The Incident, the more I like it. I will agree that it's not on the same level as the past three CDs. Rather, it's so much different in structure and overall sound from the previous three that I'm really enjoying the anomaly aspect of it. "Time Flies," aside, it's real dark, gritty and nasty. I love it.

I relistened to FOABP yesterday. Still a great album. The Incident will have to just keep growing on me.

I actually feel the same way about "The Incident" although I do like it a lot.

I mean you have back to back to back masterpieces all in a row.

By that I mean "In Absentia" "Deadwing" and of course "Fear Of A Blank Planet."

I always thought there could be a "LULL" perhaps within the music of Porcupine Tree. Could this "Incident" cd be it?

The first disc is fantastic but what do you guys think about the second disc?

Killer Filler?

Funny to note that at the Warfield show I found it slightly interesting to see Steven wearing a shirt that had "LULL" printed on it.

The second disc of "The Incident" is to "The Incident" as "Nil Recurring" is to "Fear of a Blank Planet"

...except even better relative to the original, at least to me.

I have to disagree. Nil Recurring is my favorite PT album. The Incident -both discs- is not, though it's good.

I love the first disc, and I actually think the second disc is as good as Fear on its own (minus Anesthetize).

Very strong album.

Normal is my favorite song of the FOABP cycle

but Nil Recurring was an EP released separately from FOABP... which is how I think the second disc of "The Incident" should have been handeled

Anyone wanna take a guess of what the middle section of "Time Flies" reminds me of?

around the 5 and 1/2 minute mark?

Show in Cleveland last night was awesome. I took a bud who had not been exposed to them prior (other than listening to a song or two) and he was blown away. Being fairly new to PT myself we discussed their influences - I had been saying Pink Floyd and Genesis for a year now, but last night I added Nirvana to that mix as well. Not sure what song I heard that in, but it wa one of the later ones on the new CD.

Only disappointing thing for the Cleveland show was I thought the lighting was poor. My first PT show so maybe it is their thing? Or since they were running late (equipment arrived late) they did not set up any additional lighting and only used the house lights. Either way I would have like a litle more light on the guitars if not only during the leads.

They commented they would be back "early next year for the second leg of the tour with diferent songs to play". Looking forward to that!

Specifically the 5 minute - 6:30 minute mark... Those Loud guitar notes..........

any more more guesses? Common people no ones guessed it right yet... the answer to this question is still empty.

Many have tried to answer this question but so far everybody is just spaceing out.

It has got to be In the Flesh. It is a bit similar to Waiting for the Worms.
