JohnnyBlaze Posted March 9, 2008 Share Posted March 9, 2008 Depending on who you ask I'm either 1 or 2. I have a genuine interest in people. Always have. But some 20 years ago I was pretty introverted. Somewhere around age 16 or 17 when dating becoming more and more a part of my life, I realized that being shy usually doesn't get you anything. Being a former introvert, I can say that I was afraid of embarassment, ashamed of whatever, and/or scared of social failure. But there's no reason to be like that. It's all in the mind and about gaining confidence through experience. But, of course, you can't get experience without trying. It's past 1:30am here and I feel I'm starting to ramble so I'll shut up. I can be pretty outgoing if I make the effort, but it doesn't feel natural to me. it's not really anything to do with shyness, just a natural self-containment and a certain reserve, but that's probably just the Scots dourness....
