  1. The lLumineers. Second time seeing them and just as amazing a show. Crowd was totally into it and the band did a terrific job keeping things fun. The stage setup bringing a catwalk to the midpoint of the floor and having a piano and drum setup that went up and down as needed was great at bringing the show closer to the people in the back. As an added bonus the show had ''happy hour' pricing on drinks from 6 to 7:30 ($7) which the bartender said they've never had at the venue before as far as he knew. They're playing here again tonight so if you're in Toronto and can afford it, I highly recommend going. Tickets for the shows here are among the highest priced. The Ottawa show is cheaper and from what I saw so were the US shows.
  2. He might get his pic or a small vid clip (whatever they do at such events) but it wouldn't surprise me if he's skipped over completely. Anyone expecting anything else on the main show is out of touch with reality. He might get something more in the untelevised part but I highly doubt that too.
  3. In the trailer, one of the kid’s victims gets a big shard of glass in her eye. My first thought was, “GRATUITOUS”. I suppose it was gratuitous... but it was awesome.
  4. How old's your son? Younger than a teen and maybe it'd be too much.
  5. Kept the story short and sweet and to the point. None of this bloated, full of yourself, not very good, 2 hour+ bullsh!t.
  6. Horrible movie. Makes the first one look like Citizen Kane in comparison.
  7. Upper half alphabetically... Antman 1 and 2 Avengers 3 Captain America 1, 2 and 3 GOTG 1 and 2 Iron Man Thor 1 and 3
  8. Agree and disagree with that. For me it’s been a gradual decline over the years but the biggest drop was when they reached Alexandria. I haven’t seen any episodes this season and I’ve only seen the second half of last season’s episodes. To me, there’s a big gap between the last episodes I saw (second half of season 7) and season 1. But, as I said, it was a gradual decline and not too surprising for me. Even some of The Governor bits were pretty cheesy...but still, they weren’t as bad as the garbage site people imho. What else? I did like the season where they had to split up after the takeover/destruction of the prison. But then the resolution of the whole cannibal story which followed not long after was fast and unsatisfying. As far as acting goes, there’ve been more I’ve disliked (Carl, Michonne, Beth, Glenn, Sacha, Rosita, Tara, many more) than liked (Shane, Daryl, Morgan, Abraham, and maybe just a couple more). I have to agree with pretty much everything you said. The decline was gradual and not steep. And yes presto d this show was never great but it was different and fun for a barren Sunday night in between Mad Men seasons. The acting was never consistently very good but I did think Glenn and Sasha were more talented than the product allowed them to be. The biggest hindrances to the quality of the show have been: 1-- Expanding seasons to 16 episodes and extending runtimes of a few episodes each season without actually adding 'meat' to the show. The extra time is all 'fat.' 2-- Not writing the show to more closely reflect how much time is passing for the viewer. Maggie's been pregnant for what, 3 seasons, yet she still isn't showing. Carl went from little kid to late teens in 8 seasons yet his sister Judith only recently started walking after being born 5 (6?) seasons ago. 3-- The disjointed amalgam of trying to make a realistic zombie/'end of the world' show while at the same time having scenes that are unrealistic/closer to the tradition of b-movie horror gore.
  9. 230-- Pingu (1986-???). The lovable hijinks of Pingu the penguin and his family. What other kids show has characters using the toilet or peeing on the ice?
  10. Terrible mid-season premiere made all the worse by extending it by a third. The second episode was a lot better. How could it not be? Jadis snapped back to reality and can speak proper English again. Rick dripping sweat for about the 40th episode in a row.
  11. Perhaps spoiler tags are in order? Anyway, the answer to your question is yes.
  12. 650-- Apt Pupil (1998). Brad Renfro stars as the teen who discovers his elderly neighbour (Ian McKellen) is a Nazi war criminal. Bryan Singer's adaptation of the Stephen King short story is tense and fascinating. Singer supposedly 'befriended' Renfro, (indirectly?) leading to the young actor's eventual demise.
  13. 647-- 30 Days Of Night (2007). Set in small town Alaska which gets no sun for a month allowing it to be attacked by a group of vampires. Good horror-action fun. Stars Josh Hartnett and Melissa George.
  14. 227-- Jessica Jones (2015-present). Like all of Netflix's Marvel shows, and most shows in general, would've benefitted from a shorter runtime/fewer episodes.
  15. 646-- Once Were Warriors (1994). New Zealand's greatest movie? It's about a Maori family led by a violent patriarch. What a terrific year for movies. Surprisingly only Cliff Curtis (the dad in Fear The Walking Dead) is the only one who went on to become recognizable.
  16. 645-- 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984). While it pales compared to 2001, on it's own it's a better than average sci-fi flick and respectable sequel.
  17. 226-- Luke Cage (2016-present). Mike Colter is good as the title character but it's the supporting cast that shines, especially Mahershala Ali as the baddie in the first half of the season.
  18. 644-- Misery (1990). Rob Reiner directs this Stephen King adaptation about an author (James Caan) 'rescued' by a fan (Kathy Bates) after a car crash.
  19. 643-- Dracula (1992). Francis Ford Coppola has done good work away from Godfather and Apocalypse. Gary Oldman is terrific as Dracula, charming yet menacing. Everyone does good work, including Winona Ryder and even Keannu Reeves. A beautiful and sexy movie.
  20. 224-- The Punisher (2017-present). A very violent show with a solid story. I heard complaints that the show didn't have enough action but as not much of an action fan I think the show had plenty. Jon Bernthal has to be the best actor to have ever played the character.
  21. Aren't the episodes Angela Kang has written among the worst of the series?
  22. 222-- Daredevil (2015-present). Vincent D'Onofrio steals the show as season 1 villain Wilson Fisk.
  23. 640-- New Year's Day (1989). Henry Jaglom tries to make a Woody Allenesque movie about a guy who moves back into his old apartment but discovers the previous tenants (3 women) have it until the end of the day. Stars pre-X-Files David Duchovny as well as Milos Forman.
  24. Quadrophenia is by far the better movie although Tommy has better songs.
