Gov
QUOTE (Dread Pirate Robert @ Feb 1 2008, 08:46 PM) Guinness is perhaps the most overrated beer in the history of mankind. I use to think that as well. It is definately a beer that requires several tastings to really appreciate it. That pretty much goes for any stout. I remember the first few times drinking it thinking it was seriously lacking in taste. I had to drink "black and tans" for the extra flavor. Now, just give me the "black" and I am very happy! And I would agree with that. But this IS a room for celebrating Guinness, and with all the bad beers out there, one could do far worse than a Guinness. nebbish
QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jan 30 2008, 10:29 PM) I'd drink PISS before this stuff. I remember the first time I had it. I couldn't believe how horrible it is. This is one of those beers, like Heineken, that just get a reputation and then mass hysteria follows it. There's no way in hell that anyone can tell me they actually LIKE the taste of this shit. oh that's easy...I can...LOVE IT!

tangy
I like Guinness but agree there are better stouts. I maintain all imports are hit or miss in terms of quality here in the states. I thought the guiness in Ireland was quite good. Guinness contrary to popular belief has a relatively low alcohol content and a very few calories. A healthy and wholesome drink. Stormtron
I like Guinness (especially the Extra Stout), but I'm never in the mood for it unless I'm having dinner out somewhere.
