  1. You guys are in for a real treat!!! Rest your ears up now - they WILL be melted on the 12th!!!
  2. Hey, much respect for your opinion - I just don't happen to share it. However I am sure that there are many Rush albums that we do agree about! I wish you all the best and hope you can get out to see them on tour this year even if the album isn't working for you!
  3. This one required a bit more work for me to get my head around. But it is now melting my face regularly!
  4. QUOTE (Snowman @ Jun 10 2012, 12:05 AM) I hate the word plodding. S&A is not plodding. There are at least 2 tracks that comes up in my top 30 Rush songs, Armour & Sword and Working Them Angels. Listened to these tracks yesterday and they are increadibly strong tracks. As well as 5-6 other top quality tracks. What S&A lacks compared to CA is everything. The energy in how they treat their instruments, elaborated instrumental themes, solid, strong melodies throughout, use of strings/synths, etc.... Obviusouly CA sweeps floor with S&A. They are 2 completely different albums so I cant really compare them against each other. They are equally different as VT was to S&A. I still love the good songs on S&A and it still is an very good album. I love me some Armor and Sword and Workin' Them Angels - especially live!!!
  5. QUOTE (Jar2112 @ Jun 10 2012, 11:56 PM) I love Clockwork Angels. Just love it. The one thing that kind of irks me is the obvious edits that can be heard in most of the songs. To my ears, they are not subtle at all. This was pretty obvious in S&A as well. The one glaring mistake being the beginning of the second verse in "We hold on". Just laughably bad. Anyone else bugged by this?
  6. QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 9 2012, 05:22 PM) "The lenses inside of me that paint the woooorld black. . ." "The booze of boys in the scarlet mist that's billowed into rage..." I agree - the lyrics on this gem are superb. Neil has really nailed it on this one!!
  7. QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Jun 9 2012, 12:26 PM) I've eaten burgers from just about every type and chain of restaurant, and In-N-Out blows them all away! Double-double Animal Style for me please. I eat there once a week, religiously! I keep hoping that they would expand north into Washington state, but not holding my breath.
  8. QUOTE (deslock @ Jun 9 2012, 05:51 AM) QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 9 2012, 05:08 AM)It's Hold Your Fire II without the balls They put them on HYF's cover to make up for the music's lack of balls...they even added a spare! (to be fair to HYF, there are some intense parts in several songs) It might not have balls, but it has a big..... Clock!
  9. I'm really digging Carnies - it rocks hard! It seems especially good placed right after Anarchist. Great 1-2 punch (or 1-2-3-4-5 punch if you include the first three songs).
  10. I'm no statistician, but I would venture to guess that the probability of two bands starting a song with the same two chords is higher than one would think.
  11. QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ Jun 8 2012, 06:08 PM) The Anarchist is probably his highlight on the album, the bass there is killer! Currently my favorite track on the whole album. Simply brilliant!
  12. I've always been a big Geddy Lee fan, but I've got to say he is really unleashed on CA! Can't wait to see him play some (or all???) of these new songs live this fall!! When listening to the new material I get this mental image of Geddy in my face smacking me in the side of the head with his bass. Powerful stuff.
  13. QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ May 26 2012, 02:23 PM) QUOTE (KevinDallas @ May 26 2012, 12:57 PM) Imagine if the crowd was all dressed in Steampunk clothes. Check out this website: http://www.steampunkemporium.com/steam.php I'm ordering boots and an aviator helmet. Not really into steampunk attire, but have to admit some of those aviator helms are pretty badass!!!
  14. After one listen, an easy 7 to 8 for me. But this is bearing in mind that at first listen, I did not really like Moving Pictures all that much. Given that, I see the real possibility of it rating 9.5 (in my personal ranking) in a week or so after many, many listens. I can never give it a 10, because I doubt there will ever be an album that I will love more than Hemispheres. This is really a great effort from the boys - I'm really excited about it.
