Oh that's too bad! Did you get everyone's sign after?

No, I didn't do the signature thing. I used to be really into that but sort of got burned out on it after a while. I'm happy just to have the experience and the t shirt and taking some pictures.

My next one is a tribute band called the Genesis show (which is also at the Keswick theater). That's on the 18th.

I don't really care too much about the sigs, but I liked meeting them all. I love Seven, he was super nice.

Anyway, glad you got to go!

I get it. I just kind of got burned out on the whole waiting in line to meet people who put their shoes and socks on one foot at a time just like everyone else! ;) I'm being slightly snarky about it but you get the point. I guess because I met so many musicians and signatures (and sometimes just talking to them) I got bored with it. These days I will only talk to them if I happen to run into them by accident. Maybe I'm getting cranky in my old age or something. I didn't meet the Genesis show members last night either. Great show though. I even saw a guy with a star man on the back of his jacket but he didn't go to any of the Bubba Bash shows. I recommended them to him though. There seems to be a crossover between Yes, Genesis and Rush. Not entirely but it's there if you look for it. Lol. I even saw a guy with a Rush license plate at an Asia show but again there's that prog connection. :)

I'll be there too!

Todd Rundgren doing Burt Bacarach song catalogue. Yes really. It's at my local-ish PAC theater and pretty cheap. I'll know more of those songs than what he sang in the Me/We tour!

I"m going to see Ringo and The All Starr Band in Charlotte.  I'm really excited about this one - have wanted to see Ringo for years.

I'll be on the lookout as well! I'm planning on wearing this shirt from a much smaller band that references Ride The Lightning

I'm not sure what i'll be wearing yet but I'll letcha know. I'm leaning towards this Intronaut shirt since it's a parody of a Pantera album cover

I've tried wearing obscure metal shirts to similar shows and nobody cares

I've tried repping smaller bands at bigger shows, and it usually goes unnoticed. Every now and then, someone will pick up on it.

4/5: Molly Grace, Claire Ernst - The Drake, Amherst, Massachusetts

Two up-and-coming pop singers. Molly’s music has influences of funk and disco, whereas Claire’s is more soul and jazz-influenced

4/18: Silverstein, Real Friends, Broadside, Greyhaven - Empire Live, Albany, NY

Silverstein is an all-time favorite of mine, and in my opinion, a definitive band in 2000s post-hardcore. I’ve seen them twice before. Real Friends and Broadside are both more pop punk-leaning, although Real Friends’ new album was somewhat heavier than their previous work, and Broadside’s newest release was poppier. I’ve seen Real Friends five times, and Broadside once. Greyhaven is a hardcore/metalcore band that I saw years ago with several local bands.

4/19: Metallica, Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies - JMA Wireless Dome, Syracuse, NY

I’m gonna assume no introduction is needed here. It’s my first time seeing all of these bands

4/27: Niis, Pollyanna - No Fun, Troy, NY

Niis (pronounced “Nice”) is a band from that LA that mixes sounds from punk, hardcore, grunge, and lo-fi garage rock. Pollyanna is a favorite of mine. They’re from New Jersey, and they mix elements of punk, grunge, pop, and a touch of metal. After a three-year gap, I finally saw them again this February, in Binghamton, NY.

5/30: Keep Flying, Career Mode, youbetcha!, Everybody That Loves You, Nick Rossi - Empire Underground, Albany

Keep Flying is a pop punk band with horns (not ska though), from New Jersey. I’ve seen them a few times, and they’ve become a favorite over the past few years. The others are local punk/pop punk bands, and Career Mode is a punk/adjacent genre cover band from my area.

6/14: Honey Revenge, Daisy Grenade, Vana, Nightlife - The Palladium, Worcester, Massachusetts

Honey Revenge is a pop rock band from LA. I saw them open a show at the same venue last summer. Daisy Grenade is a band fronted by two women, and their sound is often described as a mix of grunge, pop, and punk, kinda like Pollyanna, but a bit poppier. Vana has been described as pop metal. Nightlife calls their sound Soul Punk.

7/3: James Arthur - The Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

James Arthur is an English singer whose sound has elements of pop, soul, rock, and hip hop. I wasn’t very familiar with his work until last year, but my girlfriend is a huge fan, and she’s always wanted to see him live.

7/22: The Offspring, Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory - Lakeview Amphitheater, Syracuse

Three bands most of you have probably heard of. The Offspring is in my top ten favorite bands, and I’m super excited to see them again. Jimmy Eat World has a great body of work, and is considered extremely influential in punk and emo. New Found Glory was a pop punk that was big in the early to mid 2000s

I have at least two more shows I’m looking at. Ben Folds just announced a show 40 minutes away from me, so I’m planning to get those tickets when they go on sale tomorrow morning. One of my favorite emo bands, Arm’s Length, is playing Albany in May, and my brother and I are planning on hitting that one.

Todd Rundgren doing Burt Bacarach catalog at Bergen Pac. Local for me and not too expensive, but a friend is mostly paying anyway! ☺️

It'll be my third time seeing Suicidal Tendencies lol. They just keep opening for bands I want to see. They've always put on a great show even if I was never there for them. Rob Trujillo's son plays bass for them and he was sick when I saw them in 2023.

I'm not expecting much. I've been wanting to see both of these for years now so I'm glad I finally got a shot at it. A shame Ann Wilson is hurt though.

I’m excited for them! I think it’s cool that they have Ben Weinman of Dillinger Escape Plan on guitar, and former Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg. Rob’s son Tye filled in with Korn at one point
