I've been wanting to see both of these for years now so I'm glad I finally got a shot at it. A shame Ann Wilson is hurt though. I saw Cheap Trick back in 1986, they were supporting Motley Crue on their Theatre of Pain tour and they blew them offstage! Robin Zander joined them for a jam later on too.

They've never had a reputation for half-assing it so I'm sure they'll still be good 47 years later 2
Derek19 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) I've seen Heart, and Cheap Trick perform on the same double bill in concert before. It was on Heart's Brigade Tour, and Cheap Trick's Busted Tour. This was in 1990, in Vancouver, at Pacific Coliseum. I thought both bands, and groups were really good, and sounded great. I enjoyed it, and the both of them a lot. Edited April 7 by Derek19 3

Molly’s music has influences of funk and disco, whereas Claire’s is more soul and jazz-influenced 4/18: Silverstein, Real Friends, Broadside, Greyhaven - Empire Live, Albany, NY Silverstein is an all-time favorite of mine, and in my opinion, a definitive band in 2000s post-hardcore. I’ve seen them twice before. Real Friends and Broadside are both more pop punk-leaning, although Real Friends’ new album was somewhat heavier than their previous work, and Broadside’s newest release was poppier. I’ve seen Real Friends five times, and Broadside once. Greyhaven is a hardcore/metalcore band that I saw years ago with several local bands. 4/19: Metallica, Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies - JMA Wireless Dome, Syracuse, NY I’m gonna assume no introduction is needed here. It’s my first time seeing all of these bands 4/27: Niis, Pollyanna - No Fun, Troy, NY Niis (pronounced “Nice”) is a band from that LA that mixes sounds from punk, hardcore, grunge, and lo-fi garage rock. Pollyanna is a favorite of mine. They’re from New Jersey, and they mix elements of punk, grunge, pop, and a touch of metal. After a three-year gap, I finally saw them again this February, in Binghamton, NY. 5/30: Keep Flying, Career Mode, youbetcha!, Everybody That Loves You, Nick Rossi - Empire Underground, Albany Keep Flying is a pop punk band with horns (not ska though), from New Jersey. I’ve seen them a few times, and they’ve become a favorite over the past few years. The others are local punk/pop punk bands, and Career Mode is a punk/adjacent genre cover band from my area. 6/14: Honey Revenge, Daisy Grenade, Vana, Nightlife - The Palladium, Worcester, Massachusetts Honey Revenge is a pop rock band from LA. I saw them open a show at the same venue last summer. Daisy Grenade is a band fronted by two women, and their sound is often described as a mix of grunge, pop, and punk, kinda like Pollyanna, but a bit poppier. Vana has been described as pop metal. Nightlife calls their sound Soul Punk. 7/3: James Arthur - The Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania James Arthur is an English singer whose sound has elements of pop, soul, rock, and hip hop. I wasn’t very familiar with his work until last year, but my girlfriend is a huge fan, and she’s always wanted to see him live. 7/22: The Offspring, Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory - Lakeview Amphitheater, Syracuse Three bands most of you have probably heard of. The Offspring is in my top ten favorite bands, and I’m super excited to see them again. Jimmy Eat World has a great body of work, and is considered extremely influential in punk and emo. New Found Glory was a pop punk that was big in the early to mid 2000s I have at least two more shows I’m looking at. Ben Folds just announced a show 40 minutes away from me, so I’m planning to get those tickets when they go on sale tomorrow morning. One of my favorite emo bands, Arm’s Length, is playing Albany in May, and my brother and I are planning on hitting that one. I’ve added a few since this post: 5/3: Wheatus, Artie Tobia and Redtail Revival, Mark Braden and Friends, Mudfest Allstars - MKJ Farms, Deansboro, NY I’m sure many of you remember Wheatus for their massive 2000 hit, Teenage Dirtbag. I got really into them last year, and I saw them open for Bowling For Soup in September. While I consider Teenage Dirtbag a classic, I think they have a ton of other great songs, and I consider them to be very underrated. When I found out that they were playing a mud run 40ish minutes away from me, I knew I wanted to take my gf to this. I’m not a runner, but they had separate tickets for the music, and we got VIP. I’m not familiar with the other acts yet, but as I usually do, I’ll check them out in the coming weeks. The Mudfest All-Stars features people who’ve played with Moe, Phil Lesh, Particle, Lotus, and the Breakfast. I’ve never been a jam band guy, but I’ll give them a chance. 6/18: Ben Folds, Lindsey Kraft - Capitol Theatre, Rome Ben Folds is one of my all-time favorite artists. He’s gotta be the pianist I’ve ever seen. His songs tell great stories, and are often humorous. I’ve already seen him three times. Lindsey Kraft also opened the last two times. She’s an actress, and she wrote a musical entitled Love, Me. The other times I saw her, she played songs from her show, and gave us some of the plot. This one is also about 40 minutes away from me, which is cool, as I often have to drive an hour or more for concerts. 7/31: Kesha, Scissor Sisters, Rose Gray - Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, Darien, NY I listen to a lot of pop punk/Midwest Emo/adjacent genres, and a good amount of classic rock, but I also listen to a lot of pop. Kesha has been my favorite pop artist for years, and I’ve wanted to see her live for a long time. I have her entire catalogue on vinyl. She recently announced her first album as an independent artist, and I’m super excited to finally see her! Scissor Sisters are a genre-diverse band with elements of pop, glam rock, electronic, and disco. They had a few hits in the 2000s, including “I Don’t Feel Like Dancing”, and a disco-tinged cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”. I’m only familiar with their hits, but I do enjoy them, and I will do a deep dive in the coming months. Rose Gray is a British pop artist that’s been on the rise recently. My former bandmate and close friend recommended her to me a few months ago, and I really enjoy her songs. I’m super happy that she’s on this bill.
Pressure/Hopenosis Posted Sunday at 02:08 PM Posted Sunday at 02:08 PM I don't go to many concerts anymore but when Slayer popped up again with Exodus doing Bonded by Blood album and (basically) Sepultura, Suicidal Tendencies and Power Trip well... Roadtrip! Herseypark stadium Sept. 20th. I've seen all these bands original lineups in the 80's and may be a good farewell to some of my favorite artists of that ti.e period. Upset that Zet won't be fronting Exodus but I can deal with it. Quite a few "fill ins" when bands are this, um, old...
