Ok, I'm still considering seeing DT.... but there are two tours: one with Prog Nation, and one with Zappa Plays Zappa. What are the tourdates/when will the tourdates be announced for the tour with Zappa?

They havent announced them yet... they will be out soon

I had seen DT on Youtube a few times and wasn't too fond of them.  However, a friend let me listen to Octavarium and I enjoyed it a lot.  I will be looking into more of their catalog.

get TRAIN OF THOUGHT

1022.gif

Train of Thought is realer than Real Deal Holyfield, friend. Love that frakkin' disc. For some reason I'm down with TOT and Octavarium, but not at all impressed with Six Degrees and Systematic Chaos. Well, those two have got their moments, but I pretty much ignore them in favor of the other two. I need to be pulling out Metropolis and things earlier too.

Hear me out on this. Don't ya think that some kinda reinvention is in order for this group at the moment? I heard that they're already back in the studio. I certainly don't want yet another rehash of ideas already drilled into the ground. I think they should spend all their time in the studio, not writing songs, but bouncing new ideas, new tones and sounds off of each other. Every note on Systematic Chaos reminded me of things I already knew from them.

HURRY UP WITH THE NORTH AMERICAN TOURDATES!!!

Portnoy mentioned that the North American tour probably would not happen until early next year...

He mentioned on the eddie trunk interview that they are going to do the prog nation tour first, then start the BC&Sl tour in Europe..

So they won't be here for the BC&SL tour until early 2010

Latly Mike Portnoy confirmed that there would be another cover album coming From Ytse Jam... Instead of covering a full album as they have done in the past, they are covering assorted songs, live from various stops in the past few tours..

This is not to be confused with the 6 song (studio) cover CD that is going to be in the 3 disc edtion of Black Clouds and Silver Linings

I am getting the cover album for sure...that would be really cool.

I'd also really like to get the box set, as it includes the Liquid Trio Disc as well as the Liquid Tension stuff as well...

But the price is a steep $130.

I'd like to see them release one of the Liquid Tension discs by itself and I would get that as well as the Liquid Trio disc.
