Moonraker
I can say that I am one of the few that has heard it then goobs. In fact, last year I saw Petra Haden of The Decemberists perform the entire Who Sell Out album as a 10 piece female acapella act. http://static.flickr.com/15/22144397_858ca74559.jpg

It's very interesting hearing all the bits Townsend recycled for Tommy from that album. (And the jingles are a lot of fun, as well! ) Do you have the CD with all the bonus tracks? Judging by that, they left out a lot of good stuff on the original album release.

CloserToTheHEART
QUOTE (thestand @ Jan 5 2006, 02:26 PM) These are both bands that I got into almost at the same time a few years ago. Both bands are amazing, in my top bands of all time. So, which one are you liking? I personally had to go with The Doors. The keyboard work is magical, and Jim's voice is great. I agree! I LOVE Ray Manzarek's keyboards. That's probably my favorite part of The Doors. Jim's voice and lyrics are great as well as John Desmore's drums and Robbie Krieger's guitar. The Who was great too. I mean Keith Moon and John Entwistle were amazing. I loved Roger Daltry's voice too!

clearingsky
Is there a singular Doors album that rivals one of my all time favorites "Who's Next"? I don't know, but I don't think so No,for me The Who is much more a real rock band, whereas The Doors seem alot closer to The Monkees than The Who
