Nova Carmina
With the Super Bowl behind us, and pitchers and catchers reporting even as I type, this seems a good time to turn the page to 2024. Baseball! Will the Cardinals and Royals rebound? Will it be the dreaded dead cat bounce? How will Ohtani look if he's just focused on hitting? Are the Dodgers and Astros inevitable? Will the A's win fifty games? Will I ever again fill out a complete Immaculate Grid? So many questions.

goose
I've always rooted for the As from the AL and Dodgers from the NL. The As aren't even trying to win anything, and the Dodgers have become an unlikable behemoth of a franchise. So 2024 has me vacillating between complete ambivalence toward MLB and rooting for the Mariners. Edited February 15 by goose
1-0-0-1-0-0-1
I'm pondering: Will the Yankees again become a contender, and will Juan Soto help them get there? And can the Texas Rangers repeat as champs? Nobody is picking them to win it again.
invisible airwave
Ohtani gone. Rendon and Arte are still here. Best we could get is Aaron Hicks. Yes, Washington manages a good infield but under Arte’s strings, it’s not enough. Is it Rams regular season yet? Principled Man
The Brewers' favorite son, Brandon Woodruff, won't be pitching this year, but the team still signed him to a 2-year deal. They have Faith. If Woodruff makes a successful comeback, he'll be a lock for the Brewers' Wall of Honor.
Nova Carmina
Spring training means nothing! But didn't the Dodgers punch the Padres in the face, though? And Ohtani didn't even take an at-bat! No pressure this year, Dave Roberts.

Principled Man
Opening Day! Brewers @ Mets! The Mets are already trying to start fights! The Brewers' Hoskins slides hard into 2d base. Shortstop McNeil goes off on a tantrum, benches clear....

In Hoskins's at-bat after his homer, the Mets' pitcher throws the ball behind his head. EJECTION!! Edited March 30 by Principled Man

Principled Man
What a week I'm having! Brewers reliever Trevor Megill got hit with food poisoning, which made him pass out and fall over at a phone store. Nova Carmina
Spare a thought for the Diamondbacks' fans: they score 14 runs in an inning to start the season, and have now lost in extra innings with a pitcher batting! Ah, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Meanwhile, in the Royals four losses, they been leading or tied going into the ninth in all four! And the Cardinals continue their quest to make giving Kid Marmol and extension look like an iffy decision. Baseball!
