The advantage of the NHL is we can hope for some fighting later on.

And here we go, and we're still in the second period.    :firedevil:

Have to admit, Oilers turned it up when the needed to.   Of course Amerant will go nuts if the Cats win Tuesday.

On a side note, anyone know when Buttman's current term ends?  I'm advocating a complete realignment of teams and conferences, but that's ngfh until the League (owners and/or Board of Governors) vote that douche nozzle out.

Here we go, the adoration begins...McDavid carries the team on his back etc....:rolleyes:

Panthers let them get too big of a lead, I had a bad feeling when Oilers scored another short handed goal for the first goal of the game.  Those who wanted a longer series are going to get it but I wonder how the Panthers get the momentum back?

The three days between games must finally kick in.

Why the hate for McDavid?  Dude is the best on the planet and top 20 all time (and heading up that list)

McDavid deserves all the adoration he's getting right now. He's finally in a Cup final after years of his team falling short, and he's doing McDavid-like things to get his team back into this series. The guy is delivering. Even if Florida wins the Cup he still might win the Conn Smythe MVP, and he'll deserve it.

I say that as someone who doesn't like the Oilers and is pulling for the Panthers to win.

Haven't liked him from day one, he reminds me a lot of Mario Lemieux when he first started.  Arrogant (with his talent not surprising) and a showoff.  Even Gretzky rubbed me the wrong way at first.  I think both of them became better players after they stopped letting all the acclaim go to their heads.  Lemieux changed after his brush with cancer and I have liked him a lot more since then, far more humble.  Gretzky grew into his role as well. I just don't see that from McDavid .

It just gets tiresome to hear people call McDavid the best player in the world over and over ad infinitum and the McJesus crap just makes me cringe.  I know I am in the minority but that's how I feel.

I may have had the same feelings for Gretzky back in the 80's, but the Hawks' pathetic attempts to halt his achievements made me hate his guts. Moving to present time, as I said before, I don't want Oilers to get the 6th Cup. As for Rhyta, she'd probably like to see McDavid and McKinnon in a cage match.
