TheAccountant
Worked from home today so whatever came out of the moving box at random got listened to. First out: Mozart - The Early Symphonies, Volume IV A box set containing Mozart's 11th, 12th, 13th, 16th and 46th symphonies. Don't ask if I have volume 1 - 3 around here. Don't know. I know I bought this used someplace. Likely either in a used record store in NYC or at a sale at a church. Still, its all very enjoyable stuff. Next out of the box: String Quartet's - Mozart & Beethoven A record containing Mozart's string quartet # 20 and Beethoven's string quartet #1. Again, very enjoyable music. Last out of the box: Flute Duets of the Bach Family A collection of fleet duets byJohann Sebastian Bach and his sons Carl Philippe Emannuel Bach & Wilhelm Friedmann Bach. Again, very enjoyable music. Overall a very enjoyable day. Recently I had pulled out some operetta's that were not to my taste. Today I was back to the classical music I really enjoy.

I do think LC and me have pretty much called it quits at this point. I'm so bored. Maybe it's time for some newer female fronted metal for you? Have you heard Jinjer before? Here's their new single.

I've always *liked* this band, its actually a coincidence I listened to this this morning in the wake of the news of their retirement but I truly loved this! Dream On is a legendary song, but the rest of the album was terrific, especially knowing it was their debut!

bluefox4000
Toto-Isolation. I always loved the material here but i always feel like the odd man out cause everyone and their dog seems to love Fergie.......i just don't hear it. he's my least fav Toto vocalist and i'm glad he's a mere blip with them. bluefox4000
Foreigner-4 i used to be lukewarm to this. But i've said this. that this album just grew on me and it only get's better with age. it's aged exceedingly well. Great snap shot in time as well. Perfect album for that era. As usual with this band they are ok - up to the point the harsh vocals kick in. After the they lose me. The song is decent (up to that point) and the vocals are ok (up to that point). Good video. Just the harsh vocals lose me. Not my cup of tea. Frustrating - because they, like Epica and Lacuna Coil, could be so much more than they are (at least IMO). Their are some good vocals and some ok song writing but something (often, but not always, harsh vocals) just loses me. Sigh.

My issue is that Andrea is firing hard in his lane, but Cristina seems to be Fading into the background. No way do I think Lacuna Coil would benefit from only having Cristina sing, but their dynamic is quite dull at the moment

Music eh indeed. For me (and its just my tastes) I would go: 1. Escape 2. Paradise Theater 3. Hi InFidelity 4 4 As good as the Foreigner album is its (again, just for my taste - or lack of good taste if you prefer) significantly weaker than the other albums. But all have something to recommend them.
