Worked from home for part of the day before going out to take dad to PT.  Thanks heavens we got in just before the tropical storm really hit.  Anyway, working at home gave me the chance to open up the moving box's again and whatever vinyl came out got listened to.  First out:

Giuffria - Giuffria

Side 1 has "Call To The Heart" which is good.  The rest is filler however.  Side 2 has 2 songs that I did not recall at all "Trouble Again" and "Line of Fire" (not a cover of the Journey song by the same title) which were decent.  The rest was filler.  Next out of the box:

Blue Oyster Cult - Some Enchanted Evening

Live Blue Oyster Cat.  Its ok but not special - then again, I have never really been into Blue Oyster Cult.  Next out of the box:

Judas Priest - Painkiller

At the time one of my least favorite Halford era Priest albums.  Perhaps my very least favorite actually.  Been a while since I listened to it.  So what did I think?  Well its somewhat better than I remembered.  But still does not do much for me.  Starts out with the title track which I dislike.  The  you get "Hell Patrol" - filler for me.  They you get "All Guns Blazing" which starts uninteresting but about the time of the chorus it gets interesting.  Form then on its an ok  song.  Next on side one is "Leather Rebel" - clearly the best song on the album.  By far.   Side 1 closes with "Metal Meltdown" which does nothing for me.

Side 2 starts with "Night Crawler" which is decent.  Then you get "Between The Hammer & The Anvil" which is ok.  After that you get "A Touch of Evil", the instrumental "Battle Hymn" and "One Shot at Glory" all of which are ok.    So side 2 is by far the better side.  Overall the album has a bunch of decent songs  but nothing that wow's me and it starts with a bunch of songs I dislike.  If I have a choice to listen to this, Turbo, Ram it Down and Nostradamus this would likely be the last album I would pick to listen to.  But better than I remembered.  Next out of the box:

Kansas - The Best of Kansas

A Kansas greatest hits album (and I think it the only Kansas album I own).  Its weird - I have seen Kansa several times and always enjoyed them live but never got into them.  Last out of the box:

Chariots off Fire - the soundtrack to the movie.

Saw the movie with my folks when it came out in the theaters.  Good movie, good music.

Queensryche- Operation: Mindcrime

In all honesty I can't think of a single concept album in the genre of metal as great as this, aside from Leviathan, Blood Mountain and Crack The Skye by Mastodon. Honestly it's so flawless it is actually breathtaking. I'd watch this story made on film even without the songs. Just brilliant.

The Juliana Theory- Understand This Is A Dream

The Juliana Theory- Music From Another Room EP

Chicago-VII

I'm not crazy about the all instrumental half. Cause that is not my thing but the other stuff on here is awesome.

it's mindblowing to me that the Chicago of the 80's is the same band.  i mean most cool 60/70s bands went the pop route in the 80's  but at least some were interesting about it.  Chicago was generic as hell about it lol

I like the song because of the music - I can ignore the vocal inflections...

I need to do a list of  my top 30 or so bands/artists again.  Just based on What Segue joked about.  it'll be interesting now i think.

We should call the list: the definitive top ten

Coz let's face it, we both rotate musical interests.
