Chronos Posted September 3, 2023 Share Posted September 3, 2023 Il Balletto di Bronzo -- Ys A "love it or hate it," intense, bombastic slab of ELP-esque Italian prog from 1972. Discovered this album thanks to Mark Krueger's "Planet Prog" radio show in Milwaukee in the late '90s. Caught them live at NEARfest 2000 in Pennsylvania. I will not listen to Ys more than once per calendar year because I refuse to wear it out or take it for granted. Dark, baroque, with hints of Goblin. I'm really not doing my normal sort of deep dive with this band. Often I binge a discography, then return to the standouts. Each and every Anthrax album has had me hooked and settled with it for a bit before moving on. Like I'm in no rush for the next album...I'm LOVING this, as well as PIT.
