Mr. Not Posted March 10, 2020 Share Posted March 10, 2020 the only thing i ever "wanted to be" from ages 16-20 was a hermit out in the great outdoors, everything else was just dabbling. my dream land doesn't exist, but i'll settle being a technohermit in a nice alaskan rural town or maybe just outside of fairbanks. i think i will be able to make it happen pretty easily at this point if it's really what i want. Whether it ends up being the life you thought is another thing entirely. i've been there, it is as great as it seems and perfect for someone like me, but the winter could be a challenge for emotional reasons.  if i end up going in 2 years i'm gonna go in with quite a bit more than that, that's the good news. i kinda wanna stay on my same career path so i can keep building up, it's a good industry which won't die -- but being a fisherman seems really chill too.
