OldRUSHfan Posted October 19, 2019 Author Posted October 19, 2019 Laurie Spiegle, "The Expanding Universe" a two CD album released in 1980. It was re-released in 2012 on CD. It's Ambiernt music, pretty experimental in '80. I've been getting into ambient music all my life, but more so lately, to be made into a 'sleep playlist'. For a sample of Ambient music, see Vapor Trails 'Boobys Flying' post just above in this thread. The post that Stoopid said he didn't like the music so much... no vocals to this music. 1

It's requires a lot of attention, and an introspective mood, but it's very rewarding with stellar cuts on all four sides. 2

invisible airwave Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 (edited) Got GFAP,NJ by the boss on vinyl. I now have all the studio albums of his chronologically up to Tunnel Of Love. Should listen to the latter sometime soon again. That is one of the best albums to listen to for fall and early winter. Figures it came out around that time. Perfect atmosphere for it. OldRUSHfan Posted November 1, 2019 Author Posted November 1, 2019 (edited) Got my Laurie Spiegle 2CD album, "The Expanding Universe" [just looking up 'Ambient Music]. My second TRAIN album, "My Favorite Nation" by watching CSI:NY, That's how I got my FIRST TRAIN album also...The Ambient Affair, "Patterns" also by watching CSI:NY, and through Discogs site got to message the guy in Ireland who sold the CD to me and we talked about how I'd found out about the music. It is an indepenant album and he couldn't believe I found out about it from a TV show from the U.S. a pin the guy put in my CD to go with the CD! Edited November 1, 2019 by OldRUSHfan 1
OldRUSHfan Posted November 3, 2019 Author Posted November 3, 2019 Just purchased Jeff Lynne's ELO's "From Out Of Nowhere". just saw CBS's Sunday Morning show, which had a segment on him. I've been thinking lately about The Bus Boys and their album my BFF Dave bought in the early '80s "Minimum Wage Rock & Roll". I remember liking what I heard when he came over and played it for me on my Linn Sondek LP-12 [still have it!]
OldRUSHfan Posted November 15, 2019 Author Posted November 15, 2019 (edited) Just received my 'REWARD' album from Jim Skafish, today, and it's burned on my comp! Now, the album was already out in the Ann Arbor record stores, but it wasn't out nationally until released by IRS [their world wide lable] until May of 1980. These folks were WILD! In concert, truly NUTS! I now have that entire album [With the bonus Track "Sink Or Swim",written back in '76... very good songs.... Edited November 15, 2019 by OldRUSHfan 2

Blue J Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 So this isn’t a new purchase; I’ve had it awhile: BUT- I happened to find a wonderful little artifact on eBay recently that compliments it nicely- a ticket stub from the very concert, professionally video recorded and included on DVD in that set: I was stoked to find it...even if I did have to pay $9.99 for it, which is $1.99 over face value.
