Your favorite guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen?

Is it too cliche to just say Eruption because I can't recall most of his other guitar solos off the top of my head?

Sorry Michael Schenker!

Eddie Van Halen is the greatest guitar player on the Planet.

I only bought the Siam Sam Halen shite to hear Eddie.

Hot take:

Eddie's a better rhythm player than soloist.

I think Eddie is a master at both. Michael Schenker too.

For me,

Warren DeMartini then.

Fukking George Lynch.

Adrian Vandenberg

Ronnie Le Tekro

Jake E Lee

Randy Rhoads.

All masters of both.

Are you kidding me?

It's just whenever I listen to VH I'm always enamored with his rhythm work, meanwhile his obviously excellent lead work just kind of passes me by. I realize what he's doing in his solos is incredible, but for whatever reason I'm a lot more interested in his riffs and comping.

Damn good at both, but while his solos got a bit stale for me, his rhythm work never did.

I think his solos sometimes get off track with the noodling.

Not gonna disagree because both albums are stellar in both departments

Van Halen II is my favorite VH album though .. Light Up The Sky and DOA are #1 and #2 for me song-wise

VH did some great covers - You Really Got Me, Ice Cream Man, Pretty Woman ... But I think my favorite might be You're No Good .. that one has such a great, dark vibe

You're No Good is by far their best cover.

I like II better than s/t as well. It may not be as consistent, but there are no songs on s/t I like more than Women in Love and Beautiful Girls.
