  1. 1. The 1974 debut bands battle, who has had the strongest career? Priest, KISS or Kansas? Or if you like who do you prefer?

I forgot to mention that Kansas is really a great band, but they never gave me as much as the other two bands did.

I wonder who Greyfriar is going to vote for?

I would've bet on it! And won!

Me too. :AlienSmiley:

And how would you hedge it?

Too much to think about. I was too slow to get to this thread

You were too busy working! And that's unforgivable!

Kiss is the most overrated band in rhe history of the world. Kansas lacks staying power. Priest is still going strong after nearly 45 years as a band.

Not sure how KISS is overrated

They were never embraced by critics, elitist cliques or their peers .. Kiss had a bond that went beyond music - you either got them or you didn't ..

Even in their heyday, many more people hated them than loved them ... They worked hard at a grassroots level and became icons on thei own

Can't overrate success

I don't like the use of "you either get it or not" when it relates to things like this. It's not you or just here but I often see it in other music threads and in video vertigo. What's to "get"? Some people don't like spinach. Some people don't like Kiss. There's nothing to "get". They just LIKE the stuff or not. Anyway...

P.S. I like Kiss (in the 70s anyway) and spinach.

Well Lucas doesn't believe that people can't like KISS. In his mind you can ONLY like KISS. The ones who claim not to like KISS would like them but they don't quite "get it" yet. Maybe they will one day. Maybe all the world will become one big KISS army! :smoke:

I think I've mentioned this to him or someone else in regards to some movie maybe. These aren't complicated, mathematical concepts that have to be "gotten" in order to find a solution.

Gotta agree with Priest having more staying power. Got tired of KISS after awhile. Kinda like AC/DC. Never really got into Iowa.

I think there's a Gene one that does that, he's a wanker either way!

Kiss easily had the best career, though I like Kansas the best of the choices.

KISS all the way. They were just as influential as Priest was.

Too bad so many people can't get past the makeup and theatrics and focus on their music. The music, by the way is damn good!!

I love Kansas more of we count just the classic run.

I don't care about KISS and likely never will. And they are still well known but Priest are taken more seriously and have released it seeks nothing but quality music the last few years.
