  1. 1. The 1974 debut bands battle, who has had the strongest career? Priest, KISS or Kansas? Or if you like who do you prefer?

As fun as it is to give dear Lucas a hard time, in full disclosure I did vote for KISS. The OP asks about careers, and few artists in any genre or medium had a better career than KISS.

yes, I think Paul Stanley has a better voice than Rob Halford

Why ??

Because Paul, in his heyday, was more natural and hit me right where it counts

Paul's got a better voice

 Halford could never pull off a song like Beth.

Goose, we both know who sang that one

Actually, I don't think Halford could sing Hard Luck Woman

Agreed.

And I'll leave the Paul vs Rob thing alone, because nobody cares anyway

But for those with open minds ( Segue, I know that you are one of the few ), just watch this, and if you still think Paul doesn't have a good voice, I'll respect that

I love Rob Halford, but he is one dimensional and choppy .. He has never done anything like this

Beyond the Realms of Death alone blows this away. Of course but you know that already. ;)

We'll agree to disagree then .. I like Paul's voice better because it just seems to flow like an extension of his speaking voice - he's more natural to me, and I appreciate the fact that he could come into my living room with an acoustic guitar and sit down and play the songs alone ..

We all have our preferences, but the way Digtal Dad and Segue freaked out at the mention of Paul being compared to Rob is really odd, but understandable for anyone who probably doesn't own a single album by either band

This isn't better than the KISS clip .. sorry

So you're saying that you prefer singers to sound like their speaking voice? Does Paul really sound like his speaking voice? Not to me.

Well you've chosen two clips that suit your argument, one is a 1995 clip and the other is 2005. I could get two clips from the latest tours of the band in 2015 and we know who sounds better and his name isn't Paul. But I would still say that I prefer the Halford performance of your chosen clips.

No, I'm saying that I prefer the singing voice to sound like their speaking voice .. I feel that Paul is more natural - he never sounded forced ( other than maybe some of the stuff on The Elder )

Rob's acoustic examples are very limited, so I posted the only one I could find ..

TD, I love Priest and Halford ... But I never thought he had an amazing singing voice .. He is great for what they did, but he's not as versatile ..

Great song, great personality - but a great singing voice ??

Your KISS goggles are blinding you, but that's alright Lucas, we understand. You have to create these arguments to back up your KISS beliefs so you can sleep at night. I want you to sleep too, you need your rest. :sundog:

I didn't freak out! I just was surprised.

Like so many are when I say I think Nightwish and Sonata Arctica are better bands than Rush and Cristina Scabbia is a better singer than Geddy Lee or that I would rather listen to Bruce Springsteen tHan pretty much anything else ever.

Even when we disagree I still think you know I too stand my ground haha!

I'll remind you of this quote when you PM me again gushing over how much you love 80s KISS and how misunderstood and underrated that era actually is ..

I love all of them for different reasons, but Kansas is the best!
