Rushian King
536-- Lifeboat (1944). A ship is sunk during a WWII battle with a German sub and a few survivors end up in a lifeboat, along with a survivor from the sub. What to do with the enemy? Another Hitchcock classic with a terrific cast including Tallulah Bankhead and Hume Cronyn.

Kill ! ( Lucas ) I remember hunting down this classic in the 80s after reading about it in Psychotronic magazine ( which, btw, played a huge role in my appreciation for the unheralded classics ) 537 should not have been where the first Russ Meyer movie landed on this list .. then again, maybe it should ... Three go go dancers go nuts on a kidnap and murder spree circa 1965 .. According to Wikipedia: Noted feminist and lesbian film critic B. Ruby Rich said that when she first saw Faster, Pussycat! in the 1970s she "was absolutely outraged that [she'd] been forced to watch this misogynist film that objectified women and that was really just short of soft-core porn." Upon viewing it again in the early 1990s, however, she "just loved it" and wrote a piece in the Village Voice reappraising the film and discussing her change in opinion. A film that can cause ONE of those reactions is list worthy, let alone BOTH

Kill ! ( Lucas )538) Amadeus ( Nate2112 ) 539) Pitch Black ( Rutlefan ) I'm a sucker for sci-fi thriller/horror but find most of them underwhelming, schlocky, poorly-made, stupid, etc etc, but this one was very good when viewed within the limits of its aspirations -- occasionally menacing, at times displaying visual poetry which hearkened back to an earlier sci-fi style. It's follow up is the opposite -- large aspirations, flat execution (apart from the race in front of the rising sun on the Mercury-like planet, which was cool sci-fi). The third one is table scraps for suckers like me (I like it well-enough but it's merely a good b-movie). Rushian King
540-- Mudhoney (1965). This Russ Meyer film is arguably his 'best.' I meant to pick a Meyer film in the original 500 and just forgot. The grunge band is named after this just as Faster Pussycat was named after Lucas' earlier pick.
New_World_Man
538.) Amadeus. Absolutely beautiful film. No other words This was the first film that I went to see in a theater by myself. I remember being surprised by the fact that there was actually an intermission at one point(something that I suppose is still very rare for a movie; the only other one I can think of that has one is "gone with the wind."). Anyway, yes great film.

New_World_Man
541) Good Will Hunting (New World Man) I remember when I first saw this back in the 90's when it was still kind of new I remember not caring much for the ending which I thought was a bit of a typical hollywood ending. At some point not too long ago I bought it on dvd and watched it again for the first time in many years. While I still stand by my initial criticism to a degree I now have come to the conclusion that maybe that's being a bit nitpicky. Over all it's a great film and there is some really powerful top notch acting in it. Robin Williams in particular is great as the psychologist and although maybe Matt Damons character isn't the most likable person necessarily you start to feel sorry for him at some point and even start routing for him. A very well done drama.

Rushian King
542-- The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956). Hitchcock remakes his own movie from the 30s (can't say for sure if I've seen the original). A solid albeit lower-tier film in his filmography for me. James Stewart and Doris Day star as a couple who come across an assassination plot and whose child is kidnapped to ensure their silence. Day, who's still around, is a possibility for the lifetime Oscar this year.
