Instead of drugs and groupies they learned French, rode bikes and motorcycles, got interested in wine, baseball and writing. Playing in the round requires the performers to be mobile a lot more since there's so much extra stage to cover. Geddy and Alex had way too many little things to do live and wouldn't be able to pull it off.
