  1. Funny but it's never been about the munchies with me, going on 45 years when I first smoked a joint at 14 years old.
  2. What exactly are they in denial about?
  3. I believe something is in the works and will happen within 2 years. Maybe Rush, maybe not, but I believe we will hear something from Geddy or Al, or both, together or separate soon.
  4. Maybe not better, but Cosmosquad have some great instrumental albums.
  5. It all comes back to the music which defines punk. Television's music is nowhere near punk.
  6. No, they are not. They've had a good a run as Rush, even longer actually. There is not a bad cd in the whole run. Their last album is fantastic. Vinnie Moore has lifted the band to the highest level.
  7. Good post. I saw that tour in Providence at the Civic Center. I had just turned 20 at the time. I think it was my third or fourth show, and I've seen them at least once every tour since then. I can't remember anything about the show, but I know I was blown away by it and them, as I've been at every Rush show before and after. Just for the record, back then Geddy's voice back then, was all over the place. Some songs(most) he nailed, others he was cringworthy, however that NEVER bothered me, or took away from the experience.
  8. I have always thought the Color of Right had powerful lyrics. I never cringed from first listen.
  9. Ana Popovic, also a great guitar player
  10. Volbeat is an excellent band, and the new album rocks. Hope to see them someday myself. Also check out the new Santana album-Santana IV. I could not believe how amazing it is.
  11. I agree with you also, JohnnyBlaze, but every album has a handful gems, such as - " No one gets to their heaven without a fight." Whether you like a song or not , an observation such as that is amazing and powerful, and I don't take that snippet of words as only applying to religion.
  12. Tom Verlaine-horrible voice, but one of my favorite singers
  13. OldRUSHfan, I've been a fan of UFO since I bought No Heavy Petting in 1975, just before Lights Out was released. Was hooked on the first listen. Rush,UFO, and Robin Trower have been with me since 1975 when I discovered them. I think the latest UFO- A Conspiracy of Stars is one of the best albums they've ever recorded, as well as one of the best rock albums I've ever heard. Looking forward to their next studio album! Vinnie Moore is one of the best guitarists I've ever heard.
  14. Well said cygnify. I've listened to the new Riverside every day since it's release. Loved the first listen. Different? Yes. Bad? No. I will listen to this release a lot in the following years, and be happy. As such can't wait for the next album from this excellent band.
  15. Lorraine, wow, great observation. I noticed something I've never seen in all my years of seeing them live at the show in Boston. Neil was breathing hard thru his mouth,(like a fish out of water), during and after most songs.Check the DVD's, he's never done that. I kind of felt sad, the age thing catching up with him. No one can win that battle.

    Anime

I don't really watch Anime, however my daughter turned me onto an episode of Samurai Champloo. Bought the whole series. One of the best stories I've ever seen. Had a true beginning, a fantastic journey, and a great ending. Give it a try, it's worth your time.
  17. First Rush I heard was Caress of Steel on 8-track in fall of 1975. Next spring I bought 2112 on vinyl the week it came out. Not long after that I bought Fly By Night and Rush. Never missed a new release since.
  18. How true. The best backup band to me were CandleBox, their guitar player impressed me, and MSG, both bands and Rush played in my backyard(Providence Civic Center, Providence, RI). Strange thing, for some reason Rush haven't toured at the Civic Center since Test For Echo. I wonder why?
  19. 1st Rush Concert-Springfield, Ma. Springfield Civic Center. They were backing up Foghat. Late 1976 or early 1977. All The World's A Stage Tour( I think). Walked up to the front doors with 2112 blasting from inside. Crazy story why we were late. 2nd Rush Concert-Fitchburg, Ma. at a small venue. If I remember correctly Wasp(I think) was supposed to be the opening act. Never showed up, so Rush played their first " An Evening With Rush concert". I'm almost certain it was in December 1977 for their Farewell To Kings tour. Have seen them on every tour since. What a ride!
