  1. (Wow, tough crowd!) Cool song, intense opening, heavy sounds for sure. 8 Chemistry
  2. I kept the sticker of the same, included with a mail order. Still don't know where to stick it. But I do think about driving around town with a pin-button of Rush on the hatch back window. Never a honk, nobody ever waves at me at a red light. Oh well. But I need to stop looking in the side view mirror and seeing the button, then waving at myself in the rear view mirror and ignoring the honking from behind. "Move on!" It's only a button, they yell. I did, once, see a guy carrying Walmart bags of groceries toward a bus stop, wearing a Rush shirt. After thinking about it and passing a couple of blocks, I did a U-Turn and looked for him. Gone. It was after listening to a Geddy interview about avoiding fans and the attention of being spotted in public. I wanted to actually offer the guy a ride. Just because of the shirt.
  3. I never got into the NBA much, honestly professional sports is not my thing. But something about the Leafs has always kept my interest. Something about Toronto nostalgia and living up in the Lakehead? Wanting to root for my home town? Not sure. But yes it was a late game and I stayed up until the end. Much popcorn was shovelled into my mouth :)
  4. Calgary and Edmonton. Making popcorn. Logging off. It's late but it's going to be a great game no matter what!!!
  5. Distant Early Warning - Grace Under Pressure All I know is that sometimes you have to be wary of a miracle too good to be true.

Welcome aboard Tinlador :) As with many things Rush, sooooo much material to look at and review for a specific reference. I am thinking you are referring to the "don't touch that!" and Alex in his (fat) suit accidentally pressing the "button". Which part, exactly, do you have and how did you come to have it? It looked to me like a rotating turn table with a goofy horn on it? I always chuckle when I hear "The last person who touched my sausage..." or something to that effect, and the girl with the silly pig tails looks up from her home work book with an inquisitive look. Who came up with the idea to do a few takes on time travel and all its characters from early man to late mankind, would be my question. Personally, I always thought it was a play on words from the food Gefilte fish.
  7. I kid you not, I was finishing the dishes and played Signals. "Seems to me, it's Chemistry" !! Great sounds, great results from my role is to sing while I play bass and do some keyboard thingies, and mine is to play guitar, me the drums, everybody else - stay with us! Very energetic song that makes you think at the same time. Great tune, Chemistry :)
  8. Sigh, and I thought I was joining a mature group of like minded music fans. Oh well. Wait...is that a cloud formation I see? It looks oddly like...be right back!
  9. After listening to the more recent tracks, of course a different direction in your music (almost some Envy Of None mixed into the pool), so perhaps not so similar, but goodness, you are gifted!
  10. Entre_Perpetuo, have you ever listened to Gavin DeGraw? Not to be confused with a country singer of a similar name, this guy has a wonderful gift of guitar, piano and singing that I thought of instantly when I listened to some of the above (for the first time, my bad, sorry). He will either inspire you, or you will already be miles above his limited releases. Cheers :)
  11. I am reading through Far and Away: A Prize Every Time (NEP, 2011) Kindle version, again, and I recently passed page 204. I don't think I will ever stop loving this man I never met. He is describing " 'The Drum Also Waltzes' and that rhythmic frame remains a comfortable and creative warm-up every day, as it has for many years. Slowly, gradually, I moved on to some more recent experiments in rhythm, first with wire brushes (I've had a long secret love affair with brushes, unexpressed professionally as yet - note to self)..." I'm late to the topic, but I love seeing people discuss personal musical experiences that match our beloved trio. Cheers :)
  12. Despondent...Ugh. As a southern Ontario guy, I am now feeling the same "feels" about the Leafs. They lost. I lost. Not money, just pride. I was so hoping they were going to at least tie it up and play another round. ...Ugh... Perhaps a new NHL phrase? Ugh. Super sh*tty.
  13. Oh Leafs...why do I hate to love you? Let me count the ways!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrr........ About to start the third period and it just hurts to wonder if they will win the game. Feel free to offer emotional support OK, back to the sh*tshow.
  14. Open Secrets, Hold Your Fire. Someone set a bad example, made surrender seem all right the act of a noble warrior who lost the will to fight
  15. But, this evening it was some "middle album" songs... I was just currently listening to Animate and Cut To The Chase (Counterparts). Then, Presto and Superconductor (Presto). Loud. Always good when you when crank up Rush and hear every bit of greatness :)
  16. Me too, and it has always been a song I feel I related to, as a young boy. I grew up with a big yard and the idea of lying in the grass staring at the clouds is simply lovely. You might be aware of Neil's mention that the lines "The fawn-eyed girl with sun-browned legs dances on the edge of his dream" is an actual memory of his from working at an amusement park in his younger days. I really like that song, a lot.
  17. And so what, dear Entre_Perpetuo, did they decide? Are you packing up used newspapers and stuffing a big box to return the set..or will they send you the missing record? Any news, yet?
  18. That is the exact same thing I did, too. I was really interested in the live recording (opinions of a single night or mix, aside) and I really, really liked it a lot! And having a little red toy car to look at is very nice (opinions of adult toys, aside) and the rest of the box is just amazing to have. It might be my last 40th purchase, but honestly it fits my "feels" perfectly :)
  19. Is this G Rated? not sure, but it looks like you can take it this far, and then back off, just a little bit
  20. Hi Charlotte7598, nice to see you back! Funny, I saw the last post on this thread (you) and thought "the ladies used to gush about Geddy in some old Random Sample topics - and looking closer, it looks like a re-boot :) Sweet! I can say I don't find him "hot", but he's the only one I ever met in person and he is truly a very nice person. Okay, maybe in jeans, in the right light, at the right angle...wait, no, not hot...nice? Fit? Darn it!!
  21. The snare sounded different to me too, at times. I like it. Sounds punchy with a bit more "attack"? Also some other sounds were appreciated - as I would expect them to be cleaned off, such as the odd strum of strings or warm up notes. I love the recording!
  22. Again, thank you. Personally, I am not counting posts, but appreciate the work very much.
  23. Looks like a lot of work, thank you very much for the update and continued maintenance, much appreciated!
  24. Your order is on its way! That is the email I got yesterday. Today there was no movement, but just knowing it's on its way is super exciting!!! :dweez: :moon: :D-13: :martini: :codger: - seriously trying to use as many characters as possible, just because I am that happy! :kisshug:  :bacon:
  25. I chose Earl, because I really did want his new stuff to sound like rock, something familiar. But as I have said before, Alex gets to do exactly what he wants. I like that, a lot.
