Now that's interesting. Never heard that before. I hope someone out there can shed some light on this.

Grace Under Pressure and rumors about a commemorative box set
grep replied to JoãoCarvalho's topic in Rush
It's a crazy world we live in. Net boy, net girl, spread your bullshit round the world..... -
Hurt. Johnny Cash didn't just make it his own, it was the perfect song for where he was at the end of his life. That is what makes it so worthy, and perhaps above other covers - IMHO. Plus, Trent says it's no longer his song.

I'm repeating myself, but interest is waning......

What’s your favorite song, and what do you think it means?
grep replied to Entre_Perpetuo's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Something about thunderheads and low ominous clouds. -
I would be surprised if there weren't demos for other songs from the Feedback sessions. Would love to have heard the guys doing Roundabout, Something early Zep...Immigrant is as good as any.... Sabbath is a tough call for Rush, not that they couldn't pull it off...but does anyone really want to hear Geddy singing "Finished with my woman.... " ??? Or "I AM IRON MAN". LOL All Along The Watchtower. Now THAT would have been a lot of fun to hear.

Is Karn Evil 9 Part 2 the Second Greatest Rock Song of All Time?
grep replied to JohnRogers's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I can say with all certainty that Karen is Evil 9 times out of 10. The other time she's probably just senile. -
My guess is that the mix will bring Lerxst out from behind the keyboards. Which would be a good thing, IMO. The 97 remaster sort of did that - which I really enjoyed.

Bands You're Obsessing Over Right Now
grep replied to Super25Smasher's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Been hooked for the last couple of years on my 3 'new/old' finds. I missed out on these guys back in the day. The Outfield Pallas Marillion Been bringing in some Kings-X. Will see where that takes me. -
100% agree with you. >>Hugh Syme You spelled "crappy AI" wrong. :)

In all honesty I'm at the point now where I just don't give a shit. There's no buzz, no life to any of this anymore. Other things in life are getting my attention and my money. At this stage they'd have to release something absolutely killer - live material that we haven't seen yet - for me to notice. I could not care less about remixed this or that... after a while, how many versions of a song can you own anyway? It's getting tiring.

Wow. RIP.

I thought it was only 2 nights..... But it was actually 4. :) http://thewholive.net/tour-list/index.php?GroupID=1&Year=1989

I was at one of those Giants Stadium shows back in 89. Enjoy them in Philly!

The recent Metallica live cover of Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding should also be on the list. It's another moment of perfection, IMHO.
