  1. JoAnn, is that you? You don't look a day over 70, am I right?
  2. I know cover bands are not the real deal, just like I know Taco Bell isn't authentic Mexican food (and find it hilarious that people always feel the need to point that out........noooooooo......really? ) But, I like to see live music, so unless Geddy, Alex, and Neil (among others) want to hang around my neck of the woods on a regular basis, I don't think I have a boatload of options. And as mentioned, not everyone is talented enough to write their own music, so you have cover bands. It always ends up being a good time though which is what it's all about at the end of the day. Don't be a stick in the mud.
  3. Sadder still to watch it die than never to have known it. :sigh:
  4. Lerxst longingly lurks lusciously loudly.
  5. I agree but I'm sure as I type this, someone is about to post another thread about the Neil Peart situation. Maybe not if we get down on our knees and pray. Real hard. They'd go away if everyone would ignore them and stop commenting on them rather than turning them into 40-page threads.

  7. Has everyone heard this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MRoagLMf60
  8. What pissed me off today was finding out that the house I had my eye on has been sold. Yeah, I know I should have moved quicker but everything looks great in hindsight.
  9. I used to do the ebay thing and always was annoyed by the people who would wait until there was about two minutes left, then place a bid. I know they would say "always bid the most you are willing to pay" (so that way if someone outbids you, it won't matter because you weren't willing to go that high). But I find that we sometimes change our minds about how high we are willing to go at the last minute, and by then it's too late.
  10. Some people will mention this one but it totally cracks me up. The reactions are priceless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9qcWljsT7s
  11. Ha....still don't believe they had the balls to do that! And Alex rocks with or without a hairpiece. :Alex: ;)
  12. I have seen those and wondered if anyone ordered one. Do they play any good or are they more meant to be a collector's item/display item?
  13. I have never been there, but clearly if you have been to Tinley Park then you know all about what a pain in the ass getting out of there after a concert can be. ;)
  14. For those of you who were saying that your copies arrived damaged/broken, would you say this had anything to do with it? Because I found them really strange too.
  15. Give an honest opinion here that breaks away from group think???? Are you kidding????? :whip: Yep, that is the quickest way to be "cast out"! :tsk:
  16. TrueRushFans™ Not just fans. No, that's not what I meant! Why all the negativity? I'm amazed that they can still rock out at their "advanced age". Sorry, but I only see all the positives of their performances during this tour. All you "critics" can disprove me if you can do better than them at the same age! I'm with you. R40 is about them still having chops, phenomenal chops. The fact that he's singing at all is amazing. Especially as much touring as they've done over the years. They used to do shows every day, not all this skipping days business. All the screaming especially in the 70's couldn't have been a good thing for his vocal cords. What I find fascinating in all of this is there seems to be two camps of negativity..... the first is a camp around the fact the touring as we know it is done.... the second camp is around the fact they continue to tour and the vocals are not up to the past.... Really? Damned if they do and damned if they don't. I am actually a bit surprised Neil is the only one wanting to hang it up if they are going to get hit from both directions. Hit from whom? Us? I doubt they decide anything based on what we want or don't want. I think the R40 setlist was a lot of what the fans wanted (Losing It, Jacob's Ladder, Xanadu, etc). People behind the scenes were doing their homework.
  17. Yeah they're pretty good choppers. Not as white as Sammy Hagar's but then, not many people's teeth are.
