  1. Great! Wishing you all the best with the rest of them :ebert: Thanks  So far (6 out of 7) I've felt great on every one. Of course, the hardest one is last... Chemistry How did it go? Got a 100% (after a slight curve) :haz: :haz:
  2. In the words of Wolfgang Pauli, that review is so flawed... it's "not even wrong."
  3. Passaic Theatre is good. Also Pinkpop and a few soundcheck videos. Other than some early footage, I think that's it
  4. I just listened to this album for the first time last weekend and I was blown away. Its incredible. Isn't it though. Stone me, I'm gonna shoot for this over TB, call me crazee. God damn he owned back then. Tubular Bells is great but Incantations rules! :haz:
  5. It's a great album, but really the only majorly epic thing about it is side two. If I was going to nominate a Caravan album for most epic, it would be the previous one and my personal fave - "If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You." I think that album builds and builds as it goes on, and at 47+ minutes, it's of pretty epic length for a single album. But... Nine Feet Underground! :haz: Waterloo Lily is pretty epic too I hear ya, but for me for the album to be TRULY epic, the whole thing has to be epic. Similarly, Supper's Ready is incredible, but I don't rate the rest of Foxtrot nearly as highly. Same with Meddle and Echoes, 2112 from 2112, etc. I love every song on side one of ITLOGAP. And Winter Wine is pretty epic :D But I see what you mean. Tarkus syndrome sucks
  6. Thankfully I haven't had the flu yet this season, but I do have a cold :(
  7. Happy New Year!

  9. Here's a revised list I just made up off the top of my head (one album per artist): 1. Wish You Were Here 2. Tales from Topographic Oceans 3. Thick as a Brick 4. You (Gong) 5. The Snow Goose (Camel) 6. Starless and Bible Black (King Crimson) 7. Foxtrot 8. Hemispheres 9. In a Glass House (Gentle Giant) 10. Warrior on the Edge of Time (Hawkwind) :haz: Might by some omissions... but interesting that it is very different than my list a year and a half ago
  10. Most of ELP's stuff One of my favs is Foreplay/Long Time by Boston :haz:
  11. RUSH are metal because they have crunching heavy guitar riffs, high octane screaming vocals, scary bubbling basslines that crawl into your brain like a super-fast spider, a nutcase heavy drummer who spouts anti-religious/sci fi/steampunk lyrics, densely produced sound qualities incorporating a thick all-enveloping atmosphere of controlled amplified distortion, a man in the band who constantly wears Ozzy Osbourne/Gary Oldman as Dracula shades and hippy long hair, dirty jeans, and drinks wine like a delusional hobo and a man who eats cake like a cannibal eats feet! When you put it that way... Rush is totally metal! :haz:
  12. Tangerine Dream - Phaedra Jethro Tull - Benefit Jethro Tull - Minstrel in the Gallery Fleetwood Mac - Tusk
  13. Yes - Tales from Topographic Oceans (obviously :P) Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (40 minute song stretched to 60 minutes in concert.... epic!) Genesis - Foxtrot (how much more epic can you get than Supper's Ready) Pink Floyd - The Wall (although not necessarily a personal favorite, it certainly is very epic in scope) Rush - 2112 (famous, well-selling breakthrough including possibly the most well known side-spanner of all time? yes!) Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV (not my fav Zep album, but IV is the most well-known and iconic) Those are my top iconic epic albums. Personal favorites that I consider epic: Camel - The Snow Goose Gong - You Caravan - In the Land of Grey and Pink Hawkwind - Warrior on the Edge of Time King Crimson - Red Gentle Giant - In a Glass House Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother Eloy - Power and the Passion :haz:
  14. phil lesh and bob dylan and willie nelson and so on might do more dates a year than rush, but which show do you think is more physically and mentally demanding? a rush concert or a george jones concert? How about YES, is that music not demanding, it's Rush with less Rock. Oh and how about there upcoming 2013 tour, 3 albums in there entirty. Yes, less demanding? Yes music, if anything is more demanding, especially for the vocalist and keyboardist. And due to the albums they're playing, Steve Howe is going to get a workout as well. And I they don't have 60 dates scheduled for next year... .the Spring Tour only has 24 dates. Plus, they are all older (except Jon Davidson) :codger: Still, Yes rules
  15. Wish Them Well is a great song, and Clockwork Angels is not only my favourite song on the album, but also high on my all-time list. I often have the minority opinion on these things! You're not in the minority with the title track. If memory serves, the last time a poll was done for the best song on CA, the title track took the lead. It's my fave song on the album, and that's the case for a lot of folks. Why for heaven's sake? Because it's a great song? My fav too. It's mine as well. It's not my fav, but I agree it is an awesome song. :)
  16. Got The Power to Believe for Christmas :) It is METAL :haz: :haz:
