What's your least favorite song on the album? Personally, I would have to say Carnies. To me it just sounds jumbled, it just doens't click with me.

While I initially thought it a fun reference, I think there could be some substance to this. Whether it's intentional is dubious, but it's an interesting take on it... That would probably lend some credence to the idea that they're doing an immense fan service for what could possibly be the last album though :|
