  1. She nailed it. I've been following her for a long time.
  2. Breaking the rules about 2 songs max per album but after Neil died, I basically made this as a 3-part playlist as a way to introduce people to Rush. Each part is the exact length of a CD. A mix of hits and deep cuts, at least one song from every album (except Feedback), each "disc" sequenced in a way that sounds good, not chronologically. I think it does the job well. Part 1: 1. Limelight 2. Freewill 3. Ghost of a Chance 4. The Anarchist 5. How it Is (2013 remix) 6. The Analog Kid 7. Red Sector A 8. Leave That Thing Alone 9. Mission 10. Middletown Dreams 11. Tom Sawyer 12. By-Tor and the Snow Dog 13. Xanadu 14. Vital Signs Part 2: 1. 2112 (full) 2. Subdivisions 3. Manhattan Project 4. Ghost Rider (2013 remix) 5. Circumstances 6. The Wreckers 7. Headlong Flight 8. Red Barchetta 9. The Spirit of Radio 10. La Villa Strangiato 11. Working Man Part 3: 1. One Little Victory (original mix) 2. Time Stand Still 3. YYZ 4. Animate 5. Distant Early Warning 6. The Pass 7. Driven 8. Bastille Day 9. Vapor Trail (2013 remix) 10. Marathon 11. Far Cry 12. Dreamline 13. Natural Science 14. Closer to the Heart 15. The Garden
  3. I will say I miss the era when music critics weren't afraid to say they thought something wasn't good. These days everyone's just trying to avoid the wrath of a band/artist's fanbase on social media.
  4. Those Paul McCartney quotes from Neil certainly don't age well. I'll bet Neil himself would feel differently today if he was alive. But people say dumb shit in their mid-20s that they later disagree with.
  5. The Envy of None Instagram account just posted some new artwork and graphics. It would seem they're gearing up to announce the album soon... EDIT: Their bio now says "12 January 2022." Would assume that's just the single not the full album, but something's coming in about a week.
  6. Is this confirmed? I can't find it anywhere. Would make sense though.
  7. I haven't liked any of their albums since VLV but there are far worse bands out there.
  8. 1. Ayron Jones - Child of the State 2. The Pretty Reckless - Death by Rock & Roll 3. Crown Lands - Odyssey, Vol. 1 4. Mammoth WVH 5. Lucy Dacus - Home Video 6. The Dead Daisies - Holy Ground 7. Cheap Trick - In Another World 8. Iron Maiden - Senjutsu 9. Courtney Barnett - Things Take Time, Take Time 10. Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg
  9. I got the book this weekend. It's OK. Some cool posters. Not a must-buy like some of the other Rush books but worth having in the collection.
  10. Knowing how seriously critics took Rush at the time, it wouldn't shock me if the writer just looked at the lyrics on the album and found the corniest shit in there and put that in the article and didn't actually pay attention to whether they played that song at the show or not.
  11. The album Cheap Trick put out this year is pretty killer.
  12. FWIW: Slash said this week that a "Use Your Illusion" 30th anniversary box set that GNR had planned for this fall (the actual 30th anniversary) got pushed back because of COVID. Would imagine something similar is going on here. https://ultimateclassicrock.com/guns-n-roses-your-illusion-box-set/
  13. These guys just put out a "live" album/video (recorded without an audience) called "Odyssey Vol. 1" that's the closest thing they have to a full-length album now. It kills.
  14. Supply chain issues probably have something to do with it. A lot of bands/labels are having delays in being able to press vinyl.
  15. It would be a shame if that stuff was all just gone forever.
  16. Thanks! I have a few friends that have suggested that one but none of us had actually listened to it, lol. Glad to hear it's decent. I only listen to them when they have a cool guest. The two guys who host it are pretty boring and don't have a lot of chemistry so when they just do album breakdowns it doesn't hold a lot of interest to me.
  17. "Who Cares About the Rock Hall" is great.
  18. The January 10, 1976 headlining show at Massey Hall is confirmed to have happened but the rumor that they played Lamneth or that any recording of this show exists comes from a guy who claimed to be Geddy's cousin making shit up in bootleg trading circles 20+ years ago.
  19. I would like to see a rock act in the mix at some point. There are a few out there with enough mainstream appeal and iconic songs that get played in sports arenas all the time anyway (AC/DC, GNR, Metallica, Foo Fighters) that could pull it off.
  20. Funnily enough, next year (2022) will be 14 years since the release of Chinese Democracy in 2008. I like "Hard Skool" a lot. Didn't like "Absurd" at all--hated it when it was called "Silk Worms" back in the day, hate it slightly less now but don't think it's that good. I do wish the current lineup would actually get in a room and write new music, rather than what these songs are which is Slash and Duff recording parts for songs Axl has had lying around for 20 years.
  21. This is a great call, too. Elton's stuff in the last 20 years has mostly been pretty good. He stopped trying to follow current pop trends and got back to his bread and butter. His 2013 album "The Diving Board" I like a lot.
