  1. QUOTE (snowdog2112 @ May 8 2012, 11:49 PM) QUOTE (analog guy @ May 8 2012, 10:43 PM) Since Signals is my favorite album, I certainly would have loved to see it, perhaps more than most. But it always seemed extremely unlikely to me.... I've always just kind of accepted that they'll probably never play Losing It. It'd be really nice if they did The Weapon, though. I love The Weapon, too. At least we have the live version on the GUP concert which is absolutely stellar. The Weapon and Cut to the Chase top my list of what i want to hear live!
  2. As we would bow as they rode by
  3. Congrats and best wishes to her in the future!
  4. Love them. Never thought I would until I was 16 and a friend didn't want to ride alone, and talked me into taking the other seat. Only trouble is, I don't know anyone else who's into them, so I don't get to amusement parks nearly as often as I'd like. Last time was December 2010 when we went to Universal Studios Florida for Grinchmas, and of course, I rode all the coasters too. The maddening thing is, they changed RipRideRockIt to be able to play Rush a few months after we got back! Argh! I was so wishing Hersheypark had been open when Rush played there last year (it opened a week later!), but it was pouring so bad the day of the Rush show, we couldn't have done it that day anyway.
  5. QUOTE (presto123 @ May 8 2012, 02:50 AM) Mister Mister-They had that huge record(Welcome To The Real World) so actually they probably were headliners for a short while. The band was made up of great session players and writers with their front man Richard Page writing hits for countless artists. He was even offered the singing job in Toto and Chicago and turned both down to get Mister Mister going. I think these guys went more prog like on their follow up and it wasn't a commercial success at all. Hard for great musicians to keeping playing pop I guess. I'd heard something a while back about their becoming almost Christian rock? Nothing in their Wiki backs this up, though, so I'm skeptical.
  6. It's as good as ever! Admittedly, I haven't been listening to it a lot, because I don't want to get burned out on it. I'm going to be hearing it (and maybe the rest of the album) five times live, so I do NOT want to go into that burned out, plus, I want many of my initial experiences of it to be live. I'm just listening to it again now, though, and imagining in my mind what the atmosphere of those shows are going to be like, and I am sooooo psyched! I won't regret 'em and I'll never forget 'em! Maybe I should have have voted that I'm even more excited, not that my tickets are bought!
  7. I'm sure I'd been hearing the songs on the radio or from my brother and sister right along, but I distinctly remember being about 9-10 years old watching MTV and the Limelight video came on. While I'd heard Rush right along, this was the first time I saw what they looked like. I remember Geddy holding his headphones on his head and thinking that his facial expressions while he was singing were as sweet as his voice sounded "those who wish tooo be-ee-ee must puuuut aside the alienation..." etc. I should have known this was going somewhere someday...I curse getting sidetracked for so long in the 90's and 00's especially.
  8. QUOTE (apetersvt @ May 8 2012, 06:53 AM) QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ May 7 2012, 09:16 PM) QUOTE (apetersvt @ May 5 2012, 10:46 PM) QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ May 5 2012, 07:23 PM) ^ Cool! Hope we meet up! Maybe at the tailgate beforehand? Yes. You must all join us or your membership will be revoked. I can promise that we will continue our tradition of playing TFOL on acoustic guitars at the 'official' TRF tailgate. TFOL!!! You do realize you'll have an atrociously bad backup singer with me there? I am so stoked for this...really hope the weather cooperates! Backup???? We need a lead singer. Oh dear! Paaaaanacea, liquid grace...oh, leeeeeet me touch your fragile face... Screaming out desperation needs a lil' more practice...yeah, that'll do it
  9. Do it, whether you buy your ticket now or later! I had second to LAST row seats at my very first show, and I still fell in love with Rush and started down the road of being a fan. I have so many happy memories of that show. You're about to have one of the awesomest times of your life. Enjoy!

  12. The one that got me is Seven Cities of Gold: "with Lee and Peart catching up for this devilish workout, underpinned by urgent keyboards and Lee's dark-toned vocals. OH BABY
  13. I would definitely live my life again, given the alternative, though there's a lot I'd like to change. I'd be interested in what degree these changes would or wouldn't improve how it went. Of course, I'll only get one chance, so I'm trying to make a lot of the changes I want to make NOW - better late than never. Some have already done me a lot of good, and like the OP said, I plan on enjoying it.

    Mark Wood

I saw him with my niece and nephew's high school orchestra and loved it. Great to see him work in some classic rock favorites, and I'm glad he's going to start including Rush!
  15. I got a fair amount of mine at record/CD fairs. I bought one from a Facebook friend. Ones that have come out recently I've bought on Amazon or soundstagedirect.com .
