Rush- Snakes And Arrows When I first heard this album in 2011 (I feel like I have been a fan longer than that, but I digress), I was lukewarm to this album. Why? I was VERY religious. Roll on...never mind the years it's okay...ahem...TODAY I feel totally different! I love the musicality of this album, and the lyrics really fit where I am right now in life, particularly Workin Them Angels and Faithless. It also has exquisite production, which is terrific. This album might be rising on my list of top Rush albums!3 points

Just an anecdote on the topic of their video clips. SNA tour - first leg. The Larger Bowl. Animation of a tree growing fruit. The fruit was iPods. SNA tour - second leg. The Larger Bowl. Animation of a tree growing fruit. The fruit was apples. I wonder what happened between those 2 tour legs to change that.2 points

The band members do not seem to be particularly interested archivists, so I think the answer is "no"...but I alway wonder about the rear projection clips that they used over the years. I was a bit surprised on the R40 tour that they didn't use some vintage back-projection stuff -- it seems like it would have fit in so well with the tour concept. Like, I don't remember if they played Red Barchetta on the final tour, but if they did, using that video-game-level animation seen on the ESL video would have been funny and awesome. Every now and then a live picture emerges that I've never seen before, and there's some projection behind them that I don't recognize and can't place what song it would be. Do you think they literally just chucked that stuff into the garbage because it was "dated"? I would take a DVD of that stuff in the next box set over most of the gack they throw in those...1 point

Perhaps some people didn't get the joke. Toward the end technology allowed for on the fly updates as the tour went on so what you saw early in the tour wasn't exactly what you might see near the end.1 point

Snakes and Arrows road sign. Suppose the owl's eyes are more important. Maybe this was the thing coming out to celebrate their 50th. No sign if this was authorized. so maybe not.1 point

My wife and kid are out of the house, so I am able to krank Hemispheres. Like 11. Oh. My. God. They were so f***ing good. I miss them. Edit: Now I'm on to Circumstances. and I should have just enough time for LVS before they get back. I really don't listen to a lot of Rush anymore. Been trying intentionally to get into a lot of other music. But they hit hard when I do listen to em'.1 point

My issue isn't that I don't like those Slash albums, it's just the reason I came to love Myles voice with AB changed subsequently.1 point

I wish I could say Nightwish, but no. Rush, After Forever and Mastodon, with a dash of Pearl Jam.1 point

Yes, Red Barchetta was an alternating song on the R40 tour but no, they didn’t use the ESL vid clips. i would imagine all that stuff exists in storage but is probably not catalogued in any organized way. Just my best guess on that. I’d be interested in a high quality compilation of those too.1 point
