Just a question: for those of you who DO say "Peert," am I the only one who uses the "p+ +t" mnemonic device to:

a) remind myself of the CORRECT pronunciation

and

b) correct people who say it wrong?

I'd guess "yes" part A and "no" to part B.

I was just re-watching BTLS and it's funny how on there some of these musicians say "Pert." I think even Jack Black said "Pert."

Actually, I was thinking the same thing. People have butchered my real last name my whole life. It’s not tough to say, it’s just that they had never seen it and hence, never heard it spoken before.

I know daddy must have been a milk man cuz I love them dairy airs.
Whoever designed volleyball shorts must be a pervy guy. I see no reason they couldn't play the game just as effectively with baggy basketball shorts.

Just an observation, but not like i'm really complaining.

Wrong.
Aerodynamic. Durable.
Bumcakes bonus.
If they were truly aerodynamic and durable, then why aren't NBA players ditching their baggy shorts for this 'improvement'?

Because if you're good enough you don't need aerodynamics and all that high tech crap is overrated. And more importantly everyone likes to see hot women in tight outfits, it's a fact. :D-13:

By the way, there's also the INVERSE mnemonic: Take "Peart" and REMOVE the P and T. You're left with an ear. Hence, it's said like "ear."

Oh give me a break. In my for tee nein years on this rock, not ONE person has ever pronounced my name right by looking at the spelling, or spelled it right by hearing it pronounced first. I have never been hurt by it, or thought it rude and offensive. Mate.
