Ghost - Popestar

Just saw Ghost last night and they were pretty fantastic again. Papa was going on about how they were all rusty after only 2-3 months off the road

Other than the debut of Square Hammer and swapping If You Have Ghost for Secular Haze, the setlist was identical to the Meliora Tour. But it was still a very fun show

They have a female bass player for this tour.

So, where was this in your review, Union? :tsk:

I just hope she's as good as the bass player on their albums, whom I really like.

More importantly is she HOT??

Nope.

So you're saying she's ugly??

Nope.

You better take it back if you are. I'm gonna tell her! :o

I only watched the live video of Square Hammer in that article and she sounded good to me. Not sure if this is just for the tour or if it's permanent. Either way it's a nice that they changed things up like this to help keep the mystery of who plays for the band going.

To be honest I didn't even notice. I was in the back this time and I was captivated by Papa for most of the show. He's such a good frontman, I could hardly keep my eyes off him

I just listened to the Popestar EP. (I got an email today with a code for a free download. Why I got it I don't know, but hey, free album!) Five songs in total. We've all heard Square Hammer and honestly, it's the only song on there I really like. The other four songs - Nocturnal Me (Echo & the Bunnymen), I Believe (Simian Mobile Disco), Missionary Man (Eurythmics), and Bible (Imperiet) - are all covers and all slower songs, albeit songs that showcase Papa's voice. I'd be interested to hear what others think of this EP.

To me, she looks like your typical average nameless ghoul.

Thanks for the feedback. My copy arrives tomorrow so I'll chime back in. The NEW song is definitely top shelf for me and I've heard only snippets of the cover versions. Bible, which I'm otherwise unfamiliar with, sounds intriguing...
